3. I'll take that. We got the MO for sure now!
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic Sen. John Kerry moved into a dead heat with President Bush four days before a cliffhanger White House election, according to a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Friday.

Bush and Kerry were tied at 47 percent in the latest three-day national tracking poll as the Massachusetts senator gained two points on Bush. Bush led Kerry 48-46 percent on Thursday.

The deadlock sets up a frantic race to Tuesday's finish in another tight U.S. presidential election, with neither candidate able to establish a clear advantage or break 50 percent.

"The election is four days away and we are right back where we started, in a toss-up," pollster John Zogby said. "Kerry had a good day today."

He said Kerry had solidified his support among women, Catholics, singles, Hispanics and 18- to 24-year-olds, but had slipped slightly among black voters to about 82 percent.

16. My head is spinning
Yesterday he said Kerry was losing with women and Catholics. Ugh make up your mind Zogby.

He said Kerry had solidified his support among women, Catholics, singles, Hispanics and 18- to 24-year-olds, but had slipped slightly among black voters to about 82 percent.

6. Now I really see
what he meant on TDS about numbers trending Kerry's way.

Those undecideds just may after all be trending Kerry's way.

Next week will tell. This is the final weekend. Crazy shit can still happen. I'm skeptical of his state polls (I don't think it's tied in MI while Kerry's up in CO), but either way this is looking good.

8. I don't see how Kerry could be losing
Michigan and Minnesota but up in Colorado. He has kept Kerry leading in Colorado for several days now. I don't know what to think....

7. I think Kerry will have an even better day today

The CASCADE of bad Bush news from yesterday is just about now percolating in those last-minute waverers who weren't really following the AQQ and Halliburton news like all of us. After reading this morning's papers, the rout will be on, reflected in the Zogby #'s tomorrow.

11. so let's figure this out . . . if you discount the polls for . . .
not including newly registered voters (there's LOTS of them, and most didn't register to give a vote of confidence to the status quo) AND the portion of cell phone users who don't have landlines (there are 170 MILLION cell phones in the US), that means a tie from Zogby is probably a three to five point lead for Kerry . . . maybe more . . .

which is probably why Bush is looking so shitty these days . . . while the next president is positively glowing . . . they KNOW something! . . .:)

13. Secretely...in my heart-of-hearts...I suspected Bush would win..
but...now...maybe...probably....Kerry will win. That it's even this close, just a few days from the election protends bad omens for Bush. Add to the pot this mess with missing ammo in Iraq, Halliburton and overt attempts of the GOP to hold down the vote in the last days points to a Kerry win.

14. I'm with you... I don't want to give myself over completely to optimism
because I will be crushed if things do not go our way.

I have also believed from day one that these dirty, filthy scumbags will find a way to steal this election (again). But, on the other hand, I have a 'feeling' that there is a tidal wave of Bush antipathy that will sweep him out of office on Nov. 2. Kerry's campaign didn't really catch fire until the end of the summer and I beleive he was not fast on the draw early on to mitigate the 'flipflop' damage. That said, he is kicking Shrub-ass now. So, I am cautiously optimistic, but also extremely nervous.

17. Great news!!
And I think the weekend effect (of Bush polling better on the weekend) will be lessened by the fact that this is the last weekend before election day.
