Poll question: If Sharpton gets the nod, who gets your vote?
Fun with polls...we've gone through every other scenario, so now it's Sharpton's turn. :)

1. Ouch!
Okay, I like the good reverend. He cracks me up every time he opens his mouth. But this poll made me cringe.

I'm not sure how Sharpton would do in office, but he's better than Bush (as is a stale triscuit and a hunk of molded cheese) and we all know what happens when we vote green.

2. I think Al sharpton would make a great press secretary
I just love his humor. Honestly I think all of them together would make a great administrtion.

5. They should do it Roman style
The Romans always elected two consuls, who rotated in and out of office (every month, I think). So we should elect several presidents (I can think of four I'd want, y'all might want more) and they can rotate through.

The most bang for your buck.

3. I've always thought that when a minority of any kind
Edited on Fri Jan-16-04 08:59 PM by bhunt70
got the nod for president I would vote for them based on the fact I would think it would further our civil rights and promote equality, thus doing a great deal of good for the country and our image in areas not always judged by a presidency. I think it's a step we have to take and I hope it is sooner than later. Much to the chagrin of many here, it wouldn't matter if they were a republican or democrat...they would most likely get my vote.

edit-this is not to discount sharptons ability to be president, just a general statement.

7. compared to Bush's "accomplishments"
Sharpton's antics in the 1980s don't amount to anything.

And Al is GREAT at telling it how it is, he's get a great way with words and does not mince them.

10. If Al Sharpton is our nominee --
-- then he has earned our vote. More to the point, Bush has not earned our vote.

I think I'd be a lot happier with President Sharpton's judicial appointments, too.

12. I can't express how much I dislike this man
from the whole Tawana Brawley thing to the way he sucked up to Al D'Amato and saved his butt when legitimate black leaders were on Al's case for living in a lily-white Long Island town where the good old folks would burn a house down rather than let a black live in it.

But I'd vote for Sharpton in a New York minute before I'd vote for Bush.

Hell, I'd vote for Al D'Amato before I'd vote for Bush.

At least I can understand a crooked politician. Like they used to say at Tammany Hall, he was an honest pol. If you bought him, he stayed bought.
