If 9/11 had never happened, what would the past three years be like, and
how different would coming elections be.

Example: You have to Love Bush if you are patriotic would not exist.

1. To be perfectly honest.........
I think the recession would have ended by the beginning of 03, and bush may actually have a higher approval than now. But.......if he still invaded iraq, I take that back.

2. remember the months leading to 9/11?
When every late night comedian was making fun of him? It would be like that now. Bush probably wouldn't even have a chance in election year.

3. He didn't start to go up in the polls until after 9/11
There wouldn't be any patriot act, there wouldn't be this ignorant conception that secrecy is OK. The republicans certainly wouldn't be in charge of congress. The last 3 years would've been hell for the chimp. 9/11 allowed the country to lose sight of the election and I don't think we would be talking about "a close election" this year. Just think, if 9/11 did't happen, how on earth could he get away with his radical right wing agenda? The country never would have gone for it. Now we have so many people in the mind set that you cannot "go against the prez" and therefor don't question his policy (of lack thereof)

4. The thugs would just....
have created another emergency. These people are remorseless and ruthless. They will never give up power.

6. * would be seen in terms of character as a weak President by the public
Edited on Sat Jan-17-04 11:55 AM by mot78
More like JQ Adams or Hayes than Washington or Lincoln, as the whores portray him as. He'd lose big in the 2002 Midterms, and for some odds reason, I actually think Al Gore would be running now and would be the obvious front-runner. However, the economy would probably be further along in a "recovery" right now, but we still would of had the corporate scandels and job outsourcing problems.

7. That's why 9/11 was "destined" to happen.
I'm just worried about the junta needing another one prior to election '04. If * is behind in the polls, grab the duct tape and duck!

8. Spread this meme!
"If there is another major terrorist attack that gets through, it shows the failure of George Bush and his war on terror!"

Push this, push it HARD. It may be the only way we can avoid another 3,000 dead. We must link the idea that a terrorist attack on US soil represents exactly what it is: President Bush's failure. Don't let them blame anybody else.

9. Have you heard about the new * insider tell all book?
We need a lot more insiders stating what's really going on in our banana republic administration. Here's a snippit & the source:

The Wall Street Journal's Washington Wire notes a new book is "due out before long," by Richard Clarke, a top White House terrorism expert under both President Clinton and the current President Bush. Against All Enemies : Inside the White House's War on Terror--What Really Happened charges "the Bush administration largely ignored the threat before 9/11, particularly from Osama bin Laden, even after al Qaeda took responsibility for bombing the U.S.S. Cole, which killed 17."
