JFK - good man, murdered by the right wing

Nixon -scumbag - lived a long life

RFK - great man - murdered by brainwashed nutjob

Goldwater - loon - lived a long life

Wellstone, Carnahan, JFK Jr - all fine men - ALL dead in small plane crashes w/in a couple years time

Reagan - a mixed bag - got shot by GHW Bush's son Neil's friend Hinckley, lieved, but let Bush pretty much run the white house after. lived a loooong time.

Bush Sr. - Genteel, but crooked as hell - still using up good oxygen.

Bush Jr. - the filthiest, worst president EVER in this country. Still wasting our air.

2. Nelson Mandela
Desmond Tutu

Will Pitt - got hit with a brick but still kicking and still likely to give the rethugs many ulcers

DUers - going to do the same thing once they stop bellyaching (necessary part of grieving)

Molly Ivins - survived breast cancer, continuing to make fun of the rethug idiots

Many, many more. Please get the newest book by Paul Loeb, The Impossible Will Take a Little While (a citizen's guide to hope in a time of fear).

3. The greatest heroes are the ones that died
Edited on Fri Nov-05-04 06:58 AM by Selatius
It seems their legacy grows stronger after their death. Death didn't stop MLK's movement for an end to segregation and civil rights. It didn't stop Gandhi from freeing India from colonial control either. Hell, even Jesus would fall under this category, but people have twisted his message, but there are still those who remain faithful to the original message or at least have come close to rediscovering it.
