6. Why do you lie?

While I agree that the issue of blackbox voting is critical to turning things around and defeating this fascist enemy of ours, why do you lie about things like "blackbox.com is a deceptively designed site?

Black Box dot-com was created in January 2003 and Bev was affiliated with it.
Black Box dot-org was created in July 2003.

I mean, the dot-com site doesn't blast you guys and say that you're deceptive, etc. The guy merely lets people know that his site is not affiliated (anymore) with Bev. But your site goes out of its way to put his site down. And another thing - his site has the unabridged version of a book, and your site has an abridged version.

Now I have nothing to do with either of you - I wandered into this soap opera last week and found it fascinating. But the truth is, while part of me wants to donate a few hundred, another part of me doesn't trust you guys - because you lie. Whether it is a small lie or a big lie, you lie - right there, on your website.

Crusading should never be under false pretenses. People should crusade because it is their calling. We need you guys to fight for us in the ways you know how, just like I am part of a small group that is fighting as well each day behind the scenes in a different way - all towards the common goal of destroying this monster that is taking over our nation. If showboating is what your site is all about, it's not for me. Notice that it hasn't been updated in three days - thousands of DU people wonder how your efforts are going, and millions of good, decent folks deserve better than the election results they got, and when we go to your site, it looks just like it did early Wednesday morning.

Certainly all those people donating deserve to be kept informed?

23. You know, I think your term "deceptively designed site" is

unfair and unnecessarily provocative and inflammatory.

Let's be clear: bbv.org and bbv.com WERE once upon a time VERY allied. Yes, there was a falling out and there are bad feelings between the two camps. But it's not like David Allen was "deceptive" about anything regarding his website. To my knowledge, that's how it's looked for as long as he's had the site (which goes back to when he and Bev WERE working together).

Further, just out of curiousity, I typed blackboxvoting.com into my browser window, and guess what is right there, with the headline in HUGE type, on the very front page -- this message:

11. Actually, I just got a call from Nader's office

They were a little annoyed. It would have been much more helpful if you had FAXed the NH AG or the SoS instead of taking their FAX lines out asking them to do something they said they were going to do. They wanted me tell folks to stop FAXing them.

I explained this was Bev's (or at least Andy Stephenson's) idea and they needed to contact them.

I got a call from Ralph's assistant who expressed their displeasure at having their FAX lines taken out with thousands of FAXes demanding they do something that had already announced they were doing, i.e. challenging the New Hampshire election results.

I talked with Kevin Zeese, spokesman for Nader's campaign and he said Ralph intends to pursue the recount and that they will needs financial support and any data showing discrepancies in vote totals in New Hampshire.

If you would like to contribute to Nader's effort for a recount (which will require $80,000) you can contribute here.
