Screw the Republicans and the DLC. You want to see a landslide in red state rural America? Run a fire and brimstone anti-Corporate populist who stirs up the passions of small town businessmen and family farmers. Screw the God, Guns, and Gays issue. None of those, outside of guns, means much of anything to rural America. In fact, if Democrats could find a couple of sensible pro-gun anti-Corporate candidates, the Republicans would be shaking in their boots.

Here's the two major hatreds of rural America. They hate the government and they hate corporations. From where I stand and where most of rural America stands, there ain't a whole heck of a lotta difference between Big Government and Big Corporate.
