I guess I'm a wreck.
For the past week I have been maintaining an even strain in public. Avoiding the conversations here in Red Hell and just talking to my Blue friends.

But today...WHAMO!...I'm flipping the bird at people with Bush bumper stickers. I bit off the head of a long time friend before he could even say anything (he was smiling and it was the first I had seen him since the so-called election).

Then I nearly killed myself by the dreaded Death-By-Hummer. You see, this was the freaking 3rd big black monstrosity I had seen today and he nearly took off my back light when he passed me. While he passed I could see he was on the phone, with a VIDEO screen running in the front compartment and he had W stickers.....welllllll I lost it. I sped up, passed him, got in front of him (but did NOT cut him off) and then slowed down.

Jesus (I mean Bush), my life passed before my eyes! It was like all those horror movies where the Evil Thing is driving the big truck into the teenagers fleeing for their lives! They would look in the rear view mirror and see "MACK" and nothing else. All I saw was a front grill that looked like a fortress.

I survived, but this shit is really under my skin and coming out in bad ways. I think I need to check into an election detox center.

Know of any good ones?

9. What kind of counseling will help?
Anger management? Does The Dick go to those?

Believe me, I am one of those A-number-one don't provoke road rage people. A woman in my area was shot to death by another woman who cut her off.

Earth...we have a problem.

3. I also got into a bird-flipping contest at high speed last Sunday
night. I wasn't driving but it got scary and I thought: WTF are we doing? The anger is brewing and not going away.:evilfrown:

7. Big hug!

Politics is like housework, there will always be a mess to clean up. I think it's a rule or something. And , yes, it's been this bad before, with vote fixing and lots of violence, and we have survived and moved forward.
Now, go watch Aliens and listen to Sigourney Weaver tell that bitch to let the kid go. And read some Terry Pratchett. :D

17. I saw a guy puke outside a Hummer the other day.
He was in the parking lot where my natural food store is. It was kind of fine to see the punkass University of Alabama dumb shit drink and drive in his Daddy-paid freak truck and have to pull over in front of all us liberals and puke up his Bud Lite.

19. I did something I have NEVER done in my life
Edited on Wed Nov-10-04 09:09 PM by meganmonkey
to deal with similar feelings, Ripley.

On Sunday morning, after several nights of drinking and smoking (more than usual, anyway). I went to church, all by myself, all for myself. I really did. Growing up, we never went to church. My sister and her hubby are active in their local Unitarian Universalist church and I went to a service with them once a few years agowhen visiting, so I knew it was a decent place.
I woke up Sunday and realized I had lost faith. Not in 'God' or some such silliness, but in PEOPLE. And that realization just killed me. So I went to the nearest UU church, and it honestly helped a LOT. I may even go back someday.
It worked for me.

On edit: at the moment I'm sipping a drink and I just had some of that..er...spinach. Helps a lot too. ;)

23. Well, if you have to kill something,
man, that's a tough one.
Here in Michigan, the few remaining flies have found their way inside, and they're half-dead, and they just kinda sit there. Sometimes they try to fly and move a few inches, they're pretty pathetic.
If you have some of those you could kill 'em. Not too much bad karma, probably.

25. I'm going to kill my Art.
Well, not kill it, but retire it for awhile.

It is nice and lovely...

I think I might meld my political mind and my artistic hand. This is a very big change for me.
