Since it the democratic system itself that is at stake here in this country, I think we should be the "democratic Underground"....Any and all Republicans who think that we should bother to try and preserve our system in ANY recognizable form should be invited.

1. I recall a thread on this question, in the early days of DU.

If I remember correctly, it was stressed, even back then, that the "Democratic" in Democratic Underground was not a reference to the party but to our system of government.
