Corsi, co-author "Unfit for Command" considers Senate run against Kerry.
Sorry for having to use an RW site, but the topic is still worth a post here. It is on NewsMax now, as of 11/27 at 10:30 CST. I don't really believe the story, but we could use a good laugh.

"Attending a conference in the suburbs of Washington recently, Corsi let it be known that he is actively considering a run against Sen. Kerry when his term is up."

Same here and I hope he does run (and I will be there to do everything I can to do to help defeat him); I would love to see him get his just deserts for that awful smear campaign he ran during the election.

Would he have Rove to help him out like in the election though? :-/

Article refered to in that thread:

http://www.thestate.com/mld/state/5635691.htm

"Presidential candidate John Kerry attempted Monday to light a fire under a lethargic Democratic Party that he said had gotten lazy the past few years.
"Addressing party activists at a luncheon at Claflin University, the Massachusetts senator urged the party faithful to go out and fight for their beliefs.

"'The way to do it is to get mad, to get angry, to get active, to get out there and get off your ...,' he said to prolonged cheers, without completing the thought. 'Get going.'

"Kerry's sermonette was prompted by a questioner dismayed by the outcome of the 2000 presidential election won by George W. Bush and the drubbing Democrats took in the 2002 election. "Bush lost the popular vote to Democrat Al Gore, but captured the electoral vote after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in the GOP's favor by denying a vote recount in Florida.

"'Just because the Supreme Court made the wrong decision in 2000 doesn't mean we have to live with it for the next six years,' Kerry said."

Edited on Sat Nov-27-04 01:02 PM by blm
They'll say Kerry is just trying to undermine his opponent in the Senate race. That will be the counter argument throughout and the entire rw echochamber will shout this ad nauseum.

27. Kerry is thinking about it. He hasn't decided yet.
I don't think Kerry will sue. The bar for libel is so high for a major politician that it is almost impossible. And it was said in the context of a campaign for POTUS. That puts the bar even higher. Kerry wouldn't be able to win. You can say almost any lie in a POTUS campaign and it is protected speech.

22. i don't know ...
about the lawsuit thing ... it seems a little thin to expect much credibility for an election not scheduled until 2008 ...

maybe they're just trying to get the guy a little recognition so he can follow Kerry around and ask for media time to contradict and belittle everything Kerry says ...

frankly, the whole thing is a bit absurd ... Kerry is strongly supported here in Massachusetts and the republicans, behind Romney's big bucks, just took a major bath in the last election ...

if the democrats can field a good candidate and form a real political party in the state, Romney's history in two more years ... personally, I'd like to see Robert Reich run again ... if Joe Kennedy runs, he's an "automatic" ...

You could very well be right in your other point about Corsi. Two things for certain - he isn't a serious candidate and they are up to no good.

I'm not from MASS. unfortunatly but I have met alot of people through this campaign is and become friends with alot of them. I know how popular Kerry is in MASS. In fact most people there when they here this they will be laughing their a$$e$ off and saying bring it on. If there is one thing I have learned about people from MASS. they don't take no shit especially from a$$holes like this one. This is a big Joke. I can tell you this if this does happen I will personally go to MASS. and work on Kerry's campaign just so I can enjoy seeing him crush this ba$tard. Corsi in MASS what a joke! Still LMAO!

I would love to see this Corsi guy show up at the St. Patrick's Day breakfast in Southie and defend himself. (Show some real cojones. Kerry's had some very memorable appearances at this event and pulled it off, they always give time to the opposition.) That would be priceless.
