Why I will keep my Kerry sign up.
While the rest of the Jones's are flashing their brilliant display of electrical consumption of Christmas festivity this year; I will be decorating my Kerry sign with blaring white blinking lights.

Why? You may wonder, it's simple. I refuse to lie down and take it. I refuse to embrace compassionate conservatism that leaves trillion dollar deficits.
I refuse to bow to an administration that opposes a woman's right to choose, yet executes those who they deem unfit to be fried by volts of electricity.
An administration that takes our loved ones and tosses them into a endless war, a war that can not be justified.

Those who seek impoverish our nation, tax breaks that help their comrades in business. The creation of mc'jobs, when a working family of 2 needs to work 4 mc'jobs to make ends meet. Those who speak of education as fundamental need in political presidential debates, yet cut funding for it.

Compassion that values a chicken egg(stem cells) over helping people who are alive stay alive. Compassion that leaves the elderly choosing between a decent meal or prescription drugs.
I defy a president who implies our soldiers are fighting for our freedom, when daily he dishonors them by violating those freedoms slowly eroding them away.

My simple little sign is more then who I voted for, it's an idea, a hope that will not wavier. The dream of democracy, an election free of diebold. Mostly it's my subtle statment of I defy you.

"The man who loves his country on its own account, and not merely for its trappings of interest or power, can never be divorced from it, can never refuse to come forward when he finds that she is engaged in dangers which he has the means of warding off." --Thomas Jefferson

2. Oh Pleez......
let's have a pity party? He didn't "HAVE YOUR BACK?". What the hell is that supposed to mean? He didn't steal the election - he didn't jump up and down like a maniac? How bout an explanation?

I took all of my other signs down and left his up intentionally for what he stood for. Someone stole it.

6. I think I understand what the poster is saying...
Kerry conceded before all the votes were counted.

People stood in lines for hours election night and Kerry conceded and didn't put up any fight.

he didn't have anyone's back apparently.

3. true enough, however..
If we don't support someone, as in once voice how can you be heard?
How will that canidate find his own voice without you?

I've been thinking about this, the pressure on Kerry to shut up and sit down must be immense in the democratic party. With all of the crap that happened in 2000, how democratics were betrayed by the media. It hurt the movement, that is why Gore set it aside.. live to fight another day.

If we are not standing behind Kerry, why are we sitting on our hands and doing nothing? Are we waiting for inauguration day?

The only reason the media touched upon voter fraud here.. is because UK's fraud. Prodding the American public maybe? where the hell is your objection to this?

to get your back.. you have to give him a base.. a backbone to lean against.

9. I Also Still Have My Kerry/Edwards Signs Up
I refuse to take them down. It even pisses some of my neighbors off. They are always making smarta$$ remarks about it. All I do is tell them to take their chimp and shove him up their a$$ enjoy all the celebrations while they last because it won't last long. Already I have heard people pi$$ing and moaning over their chimp and all I do is LMAO at them and tell them they get what they deserve. As far as cleaning the bird shit off mt sign as one poster here said I don't think I will have to worry about it for a while the birds have flown further south for the winter and they will be shitting on the right ones. When winter is over and they come back if they shit on my sign I will take a hose ane rinse it off. But I have to say thats one thing I never had to worry about even before it got cold weather but their was plenty on the chimp signs. My neighbors cleaned theirs often. I have been a proud supporter of Kerry from day one and will continue to be so. Kerry won this election and it was stolen. And this he doesn't have my back crap is BS. Kerry happens to be one of the key democrats that is on our side and will continue to be. How many democrats had the gonands to stand up and say no to the 388 billion pork barrel spending bill that was just passed not many. Kerry has always believed that all Americans should be able to live the American dream not just the wealthy and privaledged. Kerry has always be on the side of the poor, middle class, and working people of this country not the rich , privaledged, and big corperations. Kerry will also be one of the key democrats to bring Bush and his croanies down.

10. In many ways it is no longer about Kerry
Now it about a stolen election, about MY vote being stolen. I once took an oath to uphold the Constitution and to protect MY country from all enemies, foreign AND domestic. I will not stand by and do nothing while OUR democracy is being perverted. My sign is still up, but I had not thought about decorating it...thanks for the suggestion;-)

When all those gawdy jesus decorations come down. Something has to counter them, right? Maybe by then a new Democrat will have emerged and I can put their sign up in my apartment window. Dean / Kucinich 2008 anyone?
