Suggestions for Democratic Congressional Leadership
1) Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid need a monthly report card session at the Nat'l Press Club to
a) discuss bills passed or on the docket, and their negative effects or any poison pills (like the tax peeking thing in the spending bill).
b) discuss the effects of the past passed bills negative effects
c) encourage activists to call their Reps and Senators

2) Both the House and Senate Ledership of the Dems need the following
a) a blog
b) a section of their website containing the info in the report card sections
c) the toll-free number of the switchboard
d) a few talking points or suggestions on how to talk to GOP Reps for Dems living in these folks' cistricts

If the Dems are having to go along to get along, explain to people why on their website or blog.
Tell us how we can help them.

OK, that's my 2 cents, add your own...

1. Stop supporting Iraq war
My message to the Dem leadership:

Stop supporting this illegal, immoral, and unjust war! The silence from the Dems during the ongoing debacle in Iraq is unconscionable.

To those who say we "have to stay the course" now that we're there, here's my response:

If the U.S. would turn Iraq over to the UN with a definite timetable for withdrawal, we would be doing the best we could given the current chaos. What could be worse than what is happeing there now?

It doesn't take a military genius to understand that the way you win a guerilla war is to break down support from the general population. Whatever small support was left after Abu Graib has got to be gone now after the massacre in Fallujah.

The fact is, Bush and his minions could care less about winning the hearts and minds of Iraqis. They only want to install a puppet regime so they can control the oil. And for Democrats to support this is insane.
