What the Sam Hill is Jeb Bush doing with Colin Powell?!
Is this the beginning of grooming Jeb for Prez?

He's said he doesn't want it, but isn't that what they ALL say in the beginning?

8. Don't insult bacteria. Some are useful; they do things like make yogurt.
The Bush family, however, is about as useful as cold diarrhea in a Dixie cup. Most creatures have some reason for their existence, but they don't. All they do is use up air and inflict misery on people.

4. I am sure the GOP is toying with the idea.
But if you have the media, congress and the vote in your pocket they could run a steaming turd and win.

It's hard to lose if you make all the rules and change them at will.

Did anyone see the 20 most influential people of 2004 with Barbara Walters..Karl Rove was number 1. During the interview he said that he was campaigning for Nixon at age 8!

the president sends his own brother to stand in for him; jebbie has experience mismanaging diaster relief in his own state; Colin is a person of color (I can't wait for the ironic picture of Harry Belafonte's "house black" standing next to the man whose fingerprints are all over ther black disenfranchisement boomlet).

rovian in architecture, you might say.

26. Disaster relief?
Compared to what just hit Asia, a Florida hurricane is no more than a old man coughing. Jeb has no idea about this. Unless he was there when Florida was hit by a tsunami a few million years ago.

This is just shameless politics, but the vapid MSM can only see a new Bush "hero" to grovel before.

everybody is so friggin'serious. i didn't say he had even done a good job, or that it compares. i simply said that in karl roves universe, there isn't an economy of scale. all muslims l;ook alike, all US disasters are phot ops, and who gives a f*ck about the world.

it is a tragedy. I spent three days tracking down a high school friend working on Sumatra doing development projects. i don't need to be scolded about it comparing Florida and Asia, especially since that wasn't my point.

and since you missed the point of my post, i'll restate it.

it was rovian. savvy. as in a mile wide and an inch deep. shameless? how can anybody who has no moral core, no central guiding principles, do something shameful. rove and bush are scorpions, they are t rexes; they don't think in terms of right and wrong.

agree or disagree.

sheesh. I'll be a little less subtle next time, friend.

PNAC has a long bench. Jeb has been a PNAC member since the beginning and with the magical combination of being complicit with both stolen "victories" for his brother with GOP-owned BBV and Diebold machines, he's a shoo-in...unless we stop the freakin' madness.

14. He'll have to find a way to detatch himself from his brother
I predict. I agree with Pat Buchannan. The Republicans are going to be a mess soon, Dubya will be at the center of it with an approval rating of 5, and the party will be ready for a change.

I also still mantain that even if you switch someone's vote, the majority that DIDN'T vote for you remains. If it continues to get bigger, mucking up their vote still won't change the fact that the majority is NOT with you. If it gets much more obvious, as in a Jeb win if the mood of the nation is palpably not in his favor, we may finally end up with a Ukraine on our hands. The Bush junta better not get cocky. I think pulling this shit has a time limit. Mayberry Machievelli can only work so long.

(she said hopefully, depending on the nation to wake the fuck up finally as we get farther and farther away from 9/11 and sicker and sicker of war.) We're going to have another Vietnam on our hands in another way, I further predict. Later, there will be a group saying it was a dirty war we should never have been involved with. The other group will be saying that if we'd only stuck with it longer, we'd have won. When will they ever learn that this country can't stomach this stuff forever. One more war, and we'll be SO done. And I hope the junta gets stopped before that next war.

11. Get use to it. Their inner circle grows smaller by the month.
They will never trust anyone to fill a position that should be filled by a career specialist. They'll just keep picking incompetent cronies.

On the upside, maybe Jeb Bush is going to gawk because a storm surge is something that they feared was going to happen to Florida during hurricane season.

18. Ask yourself why? They're Economic hitmen
Edited on Sun Jan-02-05 09:10 PM by nascarblue
They don't need this crap right now...The World Bank, Powell, Jeb all going together? LOL...That should tell you right there. Powell went to OPEC last month remember? Powell is no boy scout. He's had his hands dirty for 30 years and he always gets a pass because he's smart and has a calm demeanor, but lets not forget he was behind Haiti's coup, Iran Contra, Sadinistas, Valenzuela, etc. These guys are economic hitmen and going to assess their upcoming jobs. What a pity too as Indonesia was just climbing out of debt with the US and World Bank in the last few years. How convinient and frankly classless that they're sending this particular contingent out there right now. There's no need for these blackmailers right now. The US has controlled Indonesia's oil infrastructure ever since 1972. The World Bank loans these country's money under these type of circumstances and holds them hostage on the loan. THe US has done this for 50 years going back to Iran in 1951. We get rid of any truely democratic government if they don't sell out their country to US corporations. The fact that Bush and Powell are going right now with World Bank proves this beyond any doubt. Watch this interview with John Perkins, author of "Confessions of an Economic Hitman." if you doubt me.

23. I think it is more a gesture to the international community
Bush thinks that world leaders are so dumb that they will regard sending a family member along as a 'special' goodwill gesture....like sending along a favored prince, like them royal types like to do. What the hell, he thinks he is the emperor, so it seems logical to him, I suppose. Plus, he says Hurricane Jeb is a disaster expert. Actually, the weecowboy is awfully good at making disasters, Iraq being his most notable effort....

Jeb has said, flat out, that he wasn't running. They'd have to drag his wife back from Mexico, hell, they could barely get her home for his inauguration. Plus, there's Noelle, his many affairs, the kid who screwed his girlfriend in the WalMart parking lot...the oldest kid, of the tear-up-the-ex-girlfriend's-lawn-with-his-SUV fame, has married, so he's off the radar, but he's got way too much baggage. The press would have a field day.

But who knows--maybe they are working on changing his mind?

i really think this is the last Bush we'll see in the oval office.

i think the cumulative damage they have done to the country b/t bush one, two and 2 1/2 will be undeniable, even to trogs, and they just won't get another chance.

and don't wait for either poppy or pippy to turn up as a pic on a dollar bill anytime soon.

36. I'm with you on that score
...but I never thought that weecowboy was the brains behind the outfit from the get-go. He's a convenient lightning rod, he has the ability to make small decisions that affect us, but there's a crew behind him that does the heavy lifting, that affects the world and us, to our detriment. They picked him because he had that Chauncy Gardner quality, he has the unique ability to 'be there' and sorta kinda relate to stupid people who see him as a mirror of themselves in some idiotic fashion. You look at him and say, hell, I COULD BE PRESIDENT--if he can, so could I!!! While he is playing the idiot savant, his cronies are doing the real work of destroying the country as we know it, attempting to secure the world oil supply, and pissing off countries like China that are just sitting back, raking in our cash, and waiting for the right moment to make their move and hop to the top of the pyramid.

Weecowboy has a curious talent to make some people--lameasses, mostly, and greedy, bitter people--feel good about themselves. As for me, I want a president who could engage me in debate and give me a serious ass whupping on the merits of the argument. This guy is just a front-man moron....when you sense you could wipe the floor with the guy on your worst day, it just does not inspire confidence!!!

They'll pick another one, one that moves a hair to the left, that is not as much like weecowboy, next time, because the right has no where to go and will dance with the bums what brought them--a vapid Frist, perhaps, though his cat killing days may rile the little old ladies (and me too, for that matter). But the truth is, unless we boot those fuckers out, democracy is dead.

27. Jeb is the FL Governor, he has a lot of experience with natural disasters
It makes sense to send him with Powell. Jeb just had a summer of hurricanes hitting his coast-the main difference is in the loss of life, because at least Floridians knew that the storms were coming and had the chance to evacuate.

I don't want Jeb as the next president or anything, but he's not as stupid as his brother and is probably a good choice to send to the area. They are republicans, so don't be expecting them to send Jimmy Carter or something.
