Please God, help us to love and support the rights of gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transgenders, and transexuals. They are our brothers and sisters who deserve the same civil rights as heterosexuals. I pray that Bush and other homophobes will not continue to spread lies about queers threatening the "sanctity of marriage" or "civilization." Dear God you have gifted us with queer couples who love each other with all their heart and soul. Thank you, let us not disrespect our queer neighbors by restricting them from full partnership rights. Let us welcome the queers and their God-given gift of love and friendship into our places of worship, remembering that we one human family. I pray that the homophobes find Your love for all neighbors. Amen/

One thing: Are homosexuals not offended by use of the word "queer"? I'm hetero, so I don't know. But it seems like an offensive word to me. I'm not sure. Tell me. :shrug:

some are offended, some not. There has been a campaign to reclaim queer among gays, like there has been a campaign to reclaim bitch for feminists. It's not been so successful, but really queer just means not straight, although it can be used as a slur just like saying, "You Jew!" Context matters here.
