Focus on the issues - not the person.
The people that support George Bush will obviusly support him no matter what type of shit he carries into the house. It is useless to try and persuade people otherwise. He is a good Christian man that is trying to do what is best for this country....blah...blah...blah.

There is nothing to be gained by criticizing the Boy Wonder. Perhaps we should resort to criticizing his policies without mentioning him personally?

After all, our nation is in a fiscal crisis. We are mired in a war that has no exit strategy and our troops will continue to be killed. Our Social Security system is under attack. The huge deficits and lack of revenue are driving down the dollar to record lows. Our jobs are being outsourced daily and we are left with nothing but customer service and 7/11's. Perhaps those are the things people will listen to?

1. Agreed.
If we replace "Bush policies" with "White House policies" or some such we could escape the label of "Bush bashers". Of course we have been criticizing the policies, but people are much quicker to defend a figure they support than some faceless policy. I think your idea could help us get our position heard more.

3. Mostly agree...
After all, W can't be re-elected again.

However, i do think a steady drumbeat of clearly juxtaposed lies from Bush would help immensely in the next few years. Chip at his credibility (his primary support) by showing him undeniably lying (contradicting himself on a subject; ex. "I don't worry about Bin Laden" versus at the debate "I never said that." There's a nice little ad right there. Give it some catchline that you include with the other "looky another lie" ads. The rest of the administration deserves some shots too. How about, for ex, Rice's "Saddam is no threat" with various statements made after 9-11? Be sure to include dates, sources.)

4. His supporters believe Saddam was a "threat"...
So I don't know if that would be effective?

5. The point is the lie
Both Powell and Rice said shortly before 9-11, clearly and on videotape, that Hussein wasn't a threat. And of course, both came out afterwards saying that he was. Put their contradictory statements together in sharp relief and tear down that credibility.

Leave it to them to worry about which statement was the lie; one of them surely was.
