3. If George Bush Sr. really wanted to help the world...
He would have castrated himself about 60 years ago.

4. Well
Bushiest approval rating was slipping so he needs to tag onto Bill Clinton. To help raise his approval rating.

5. No, they're not
Edited on Tue Jan-18-05 08:20 PM by Mojambo
But it's not unprecedented in Presidential history for two former opponents to develop a friendship after serving. Thomas Jefferson and John Adams did so after having a much more contentious political relationship than Clinton and Bush did.

10. Come on man.
How old exactly are you?

I'm noticing a trend towards some very immature behavior on DU lately. We're going to have to grow up some if we want to get the things done that we need done.

I'm probably taking out some frustration out on you and I'm sorry but...

Geez, Freeperville doesn't feel as far away as it used to.

11. well i guess you weren't watching then...
but he reached over to grab bills hand and missed - hitting bill right in the crotch.

Bush had a horrified look on his face.

12. Yes and I'm sure that accident
Is an accurate barometer of how close they are personally.
:eyes:

These are two world statesmen. Perhaps we could take a view of their potential relationship not so much like giggling 8th graders and more like the mature people that we are?

20. That's nothing
Look at all the posts here by those gloating over fallen U.S. soldiers and ranting about the "stolen" 2004 election. Then you KNOW you've ended up in Freeperville.

8. he probably has something on Clinton or a deal of some sort has been
made. I remember reading about the sex with boys scandals from bush1 era. They brought in lots of big names and then secretly photo'd them having sex with someone, or something. Then they had you. You did whatever they wanted. I would not doubt that they've got something on Clinton.
Of course if Clinton had a "religious experience" of sorts during his heart surgery, maybe he is just trying to do good things. However, that would make him stupid to allow himself to be used by the bushes.

9. Was it a rumor or speculation that Clinton wanted to do something
for the tsumani tragedy and that he was hooked up with Poppy?

Inquring minds remember that there was a little broo-ha when Carter went off on his own during the Clinton admin. Perhaps Clinton asked for permission and the bro plan resulted?

Anyone know?

It is beyond odd that * #1 and Clinton are now friends. Looks like they are no doubt using each other. Either that or like someone else posted-they got something on good old boy Clinton.

Gawd, but I am SO sick of this politics as usual crap! Looks like the ONLY one with any integrity is Boxer plus a few in the congress like Conyers.

23. They're actually lovers and going to get married in Massachussetts...
You know, gay marriage has harmed the fabric of society in such a dangerous way that now even former Presidents are marrying each other...

24. Please..... I hate the Bush Criminal Empire more than most, but....
....what's the point of trying to read something into this? We have the greatest fucking natural disaster in modern history here, and a pResident calls in a couple former Presidents to help out. Despite what I think of the Chimp and his dad, this is one time where I don't find anything suspicious in his motives, apart from the conspicuous absence of Jimmy Carter. I don't think Jerry Ford is up to it, health wise, but last I heard, Jimmy was healthy.

Sometimes a cigar is just a ..... well OK, that may not be the best metaphor to use where Clinton's concerned.

27. i can't stand to watch the commercial
yea, yea, yea, trying to help tsunami victims. clinton maybe.

poppy bush? naw, doubt it.

he's probably just trying to improve juniors image since junior originally offered to cough up only 4 million (the first day) and then upped it to 15 with a 20 spot loan.

so old poppy had to do something to make people forget what a tight-wad idiot his kid is. watch the ad...watch the ad...watch the ad...compassionate...bush compassionate...sleep...sleep...

blah!
