52% of our inbred backwoods nation thinks Bush II will be "OUTSTANDING"
Poll: Americans upbeat about next four years

"According to a recent poll, most Americans believe Bush will improve security in his second term."

http://www.cnn.com/2005/ALLPOLITICS/01/18/poll/index.html

(CNN) -- A majority of Americans see improving military security as President Bush's only major first term achievement, according to a CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll released Tuesday.

But the poll showed that while confidence in Bush's ability to use military force wisely and handle an international crisis is still strong, it has slipped since his first inauguration.

Nevertheless, most of those polled see Bush as an honest, trustworthy and strong leader, believe he has a clear plan for the economy and think he will improve education and moral values in his second term.

The survey was conducted Friday through Sunday in phone calls to 1,007 adult Americans; it has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points. Fifty-one percent of respondents said Bush's policies will move the country in the right direction. Fifty-two percent said he will be an outstanding or above average president in his second term. He will be inaugurated Thursday.

6. I'm thinkin' the kid from Deliverance voted Bush.
I may be wrong, but...I also think the guy that told Ned Beatty to squeal like a hog voted Bush too. Sodomy and George W. Bush go together like grits and red eye gravy.

10. Yeah, Rummy and Condi and Uncle Dick and Georgie and Wolfowitz
and the rest of the gang are real backwoods types alright.

What we now have is a government of aristocrats for aristocrats, so I'm not sure why we're always blaming the hayseeds for these people.

8. outstanding OR above average
That's just optimism, god bless it. People WANT him to do a good job (even those who didn't vote for him), because they don't want their country to do poorly. This translates into hope.

I wish I could be optimistic, too.

9. If there were a different guy behind the wheel, YES.
I can't TELL you how many times I've looked at George W. Bush objectively and thought "maybe I'm wrong"...

Then I look at the National Sales Tax proposal and what it will do to the average working man and woman if he actually succeeds in getting this passed and go right back to thinking "this man is truly the AntiChrist."

I want him to do a good job, but I don't believe he will.

LOOK at this photo. THESE are the people George W. Bush wants to "do a good job" for. To the best of my knowledge, he was NOT coerced into making the "haves and have mores, some call you the elite, I call you my base" remarks. THIS MAN SUCKS.

12. Well, *I* don't believe he'll do a good job either
If I thought he could do a good job, I wouldn't have worked my ass off for Kerry.

BUT, what I meant, was that this 52% of people who say they think he'll do either an outstanding or above average job are just hoping for the best. That's not a sign of stupidity or inbreeding. It's a sign of some ignorance, yes, because it doesn't seem they were paying much attention the first time. But mostly, it is a sign of optimism. It isn't surprising or unusual.

13. I hear you, and I know that there are people who hope and believe
...that's the sad part.

My folks, and my family in general, were working class people. It usually took the form of a hard day's labor in exchange for food on the table.

I really don't care if the average "freeper" lives or dies...the people who hang onto every word spewed forth from Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, and regurgitate all of that hate as if it were the gospel truth.

I DO care about the working class families who think that this man is keeping them safe, that he has their best interests in mind.

They are wrong.
