Inaugural events in our city tomorrow. Busy day. Central Florida welcome

Inauguration Alternatives
People's Peace Gathering - Thurs. Jan 20, 11:30-1:00 P.M.
Federal Bldg., 124 S. Tennessee Ave, Lakeland
The public sidewalk is a "free speech zone"/bring your own sign
Public Welcome!
(Some people are wearing black - rain or shine)

3:00 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. • "Billionaires For Bush" spoof • We will have a huge Bush/Cheney campaign sign as well as our other signs such as: "Pay Your Taxes So We Don't Have To," etc. Dress is formal with feather boas, cigarette holders, shades, cigars, and oversized martini glasses. Venue: Federal Building, 225 South Tennessee Avenue, Lakeland.

7:30 p.m. • The I-4 Corridor Association • meets the 3rd Thursday of the month. The program will be a presentation of George Lakoff's "Framing the Issues" DVD with a workshop to follow. Venue: The First Baptist Institutional Church, 932 Dr. Martin Luther King Avenue, Lakeland, which is the S.W. corner of M.L. K. Avenue and US 92 (Memorial Blvd), the first light west of South Florida Avenue. To find out more about the organization, contact Fred Williams in Tampa, , or James Neal in Lakeland. (This group has kept up membership pretty well from Tampa and Polk County, and few from Orlando.)

1. I'd love to contact your group
I live in Brooksville, 1 hour north of Tampa. I'd come to the day's festivities, but I work activities in a nursing home, and I'm taking my residents on an outing tomorrow. Can't bring myself to call in sick because my folks depend on my for their fun. But I'll definitely be with you all in spirit!

Munn Park is in Historical downtown Lakeland about a block west of Lake Mirror.


Subject: MLK Concert - Lakeland (Due to an overwhelming response... time change: starts three hours earlier)

MLK Commemorative Concert – downtown Lakeland:

Munn Park, January 22, 2005 – 1:00PM (The event starts three hours

earlier than the original time due to an overwhelming response.)

This event will precede the annual MLK Day Parade by one week, and

will feature celebrity appearances, Gospel groups, Blues, Jazz, R&B,

poets, step groups, vendors (food, arts & crafts, etc.) All proceeds
and donations go to the Nat Adderley/FAMU Jazz Studies Program and

scholarships for outstanding college students.
