Tonight is the last chance for everyone to write their Senators about Rice
Edited on Tue Jan-25-05 10:55 PM by Quixote1818
Just remember their could be a few Senators who are on the edge and a few more calls and e-mails telling them to vote against Condi might be just enough pressure to get them to vote no.

I am going to write Bingaman right now!

Here is one site: http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

Keep this kicked. Thanks

Buy the way, Bingaman's is a direct e-mail so it would not matter what state you were in so write to as many Senators as possible. Anyone know who is on the edge? I heard Dorgan was: senator@dorgan.senate.gov

Unfortunately, one of my senators is Diane Feinstein, at least for the time being. Fortunately however, the other is Barbara Boxer. :bounce:

AGREEMENT NOT TO RUN FOR RE-ELECTION - TO BE SENT TO THOSE CONSIDERING NOT BLOCKING THE NOMINATION OF CONDOLEEZZA RICE.

I _______________(name of Senator) from the State of ______________(name of state) agree not to run for re-election. Through my failure to oppose the nomination of Condoleezza Rice, I have demonstrated that I lack the intelligence and integrity needed to represent the people of my state. When Condoleezza Rice saw a memo titled "Bin Laden Determined To Attack Inside the United States" prior to 9/11, it did not occur to her that Bin Laden was determined to attack inside the United States. Now, though I may have also lacked the intelligence to make that connection, there are a great many other Americans who do have the intelligence to make that connection who are eligible to become Secretary of State. Ms. Rice helped lead the charge to war with two countries who were less responsible for 9/11 than the incompetence of Ms. Rice. She worked to make the whole world hate us. As a result of the actions of Ms. Rice, Americans are in more danger now than ever before. If Ms. Rice continues this pattern as Secretary of State, the future of all Americans will be in grave danger. I lack the concern for the American people and the integrity to block this nomination and demand we do better. In failing to block this incompetent war-monger of African American origin, I am also demonstrating my racist belief that the best African-American for the job is a stupid war-mongerer and that we can find no better African-American for the job. In conclusion, I will never again run for public office because I am a stupid, gullible Senator who has no concern for the welfare of my constituents or the American people.

11. I sent a reply to each of them thru the link above....
but I know it will get nowhere.

What I wrote was about how the credibility of this this country is in jeopardy because of the lies and half-truths that Rice has told the American people while she was the National Security Advisor.

I very much doubt I will hear from either one in this matter.

McCain's office has not done one thing about my inquiry as to why my s/o was put on a no-fly list almost 2 weeks ago for having a very common name such as Robert Smith. (Not his real name but so common it might be). He is a frequent flier for biz reasons and as such, his income may very well be in jeopardy if he cannot fly to where his biz takes him. Not one word from his office........so I doubt if I will hear from him on this issue either.

8. kick and an invite to copy my text
to my democratic senator - Mary Landrieu

Dear Senator Landrieu,
I am writing to you regarding the vote to confirm Condoleeza Rice as Secretary of State.
While I do recognize that she has attained some very impressive academic qualifications, and has held positions of importance within the adminstration. I believe that her record precludes her from being a suitable candidate for Secretary of State.
I do hope that you will carefully look at her record as NSA, in particular, the words she uttered at the 9/11 commission hearings. "Bin Laden determined to attack inside the USA".
She has proven herself completely incompetant to hold such an important position as Secretary of State, she was wholly imcompetent as NSA. She is a flat out liar, and has mislead both the Senate - which I believe is an illegal act, not to mention the citizens of this country, on multiple issues from the existance of WMD in Iraq, to the threat posed by Saddam Hussein, to 'links' with Al Qaeda. Her nomination by the President signifies no willingness to explore new directions in foreign policy, it does nothing but further the mockery of bipartisanship claims made by the administration, and it sends a clear message of American incompetance to the rest of the world. We cannot afford to ignore how such an appointment will be viewed among the global community, a view that surely will contain great distain for our intentions and willingness to persue diplomatic routes in foreign policy.
I listened to the Senate debate on Tuesday, and I find it incredible that faced with the many questions and criticisms posed by democratic Senators, the only arguments in support from the republican side of the aisle were re-hashings of her academic record and prowess as a piano player. Not one Senator was able to defend her record as NSA. That in itself, is very very telling and should be a clear example of the course of action needed in this vote.
For the good of your constituents in Louisiana, and for the good of our country, please consider voting 'NO' to the confirmation of Condoleeza Rice as Secretary of State.
Yours sincerely

addition for the neocon asswipe vitter

I realize that as a newcomer to the Senate, there must be powerful inclinations to simply 'follow party lines', however, this matter is truly one which transcends party politics and becomes a question of respect for the political institutions of both the Senate and of cabinet positions. In these times it is vitally important that you make an independant decision based on the available facts rather than on party loyalty.

17. Dear Senator Feinstein -
If you vote "Yes" to confirm Condoleeza Rice, then you will lose MY future vote.

It is time for our Democratic leaders to take a firm stand against the continuing lies and deceptions of the Bush Administration. If you refuse to do so then I can no longer respect or support someone without the requisite backbone to make the voices of their constituents be heard.
