I figured it was about demolishing any remnants of Clinton initiatives that they haven't already demolished, and replacing them with something "faith-based." Because you KNOW it's not about new funding -- it's always stripping away $1 and replacing it with a much-trumpeted 10 cents. That's how they do it.

The hilarious part, to me, is Pickles taking charge of this. :eyes: Yeah, she's so in tune with the plight of urban America.

But you're right, military recruitment or some form of the draft may be a part of it.

I don't recall the offense, but I sure think it
was a case of "testing the water."
I fully expect to see more cases like it.
Non-violent offenders (drug cases) petty

Hmmm, if they are offered the chance to reform
in the military or go to jail, either way, they can funnel
more tax payer dollars into privatized services.
Prison uniform or Military, makes no difference.
One is as profitable as the other, but the PNAC
did recently request a way to boost the numbers of troops...

Well, here we have it--Bush mentions it in his

I don't know what is behind it. Military service will get you straightened out if you are in gangs? It sounds like the Hitler Youth movement is underway.

Oh yeah, this is where they are going with this.
And your average disenfranchised youth of today
is PERFECT for programming into the army of True Believer
soldiers, no strangers to violence either.
I have worked with that population- they are tragic.
Most of them damaged before five years of age
by the trauma of abuse and neglect of various forms.
The military will provide them with a sense of self
which is why they join gangs anyway- the BFEE wants
to refocus that desire into empire defending and building.
They will call it some silly thing, but it will be the
launching pad to direct them into the army.
