Why Do Freepers Think Armed Forces Are Having Trouble Recuiting?
I've noticed a few articles lately saying that they are hiring more recruiters and paying bigger bonuses because recruiting targets are falling below expectations. The interviews with recruiters say its because of IraqNam.

Half the voters voted to re-select Bush*. Do they not support his invasion? Aren't they willing to send their sons and daughters over for this glorious "liberation" (look they have purple fingers and voted!)

I've been to the freep website a couple of times, but it creeped me out so badly I don't think I can go back.

Any volunteers to go over to the dark side to see what they say? Or are they in denial?

To what do they attribute this lack of support for Smirk?

1. Just like the....
"Support the Troops" stickers you see on cars. They don't mind supporting Shrub as long as they or their kids don't have to fight. Yea if soo many people actually supported him, they should have no problems putting their kids up for this occupation. Look at Shrub, do you see his kids serving?

I only wish that we could pass some sort of legislation requiring our lawmakers and elected officials to put up their kids whenever they vote on some sort of war, it would sure make them think twice.

8. Already accomplished...
...and a co-worker who voted for * because God wanted her too, Her exact words, has a son who is about to turn 18. She is mad at me for volunteering because she is convinced that I will do exactly what you suggessted: Only draft republican kids

3. Simple-the armed forces are not having trouble recruiting.
Recruiting is up, and your chocolate ration has been increased from 27 grams to 24 grams!

7. I was gonna blame the damn librul meedeeya too
...but my take was that they'd accuse them of filling people's heads with terrible stories that were not true. Those casualty figures, ya see, are INFLATED. We can SEE the LIGHT at the end of the TUNNEL!!! It's a CAKEWALK!! We'll be GREETED as LIBERATORS, with flowers and sweets!!! Pay no attention to those flag draped boxes, those are TRANSFER TUBES, not re-usable coffins!!!

11. Ghod don't remind me...

I was snooping over there and ran across a talking point. Something like "When they say 37 people were killed in Iraq, remind them how many people were murdered in Detroit".

I guess that civilians don't count unless they are in Detroit.

12. I know that logic is not their strong suit, but
Do they have an 'explanation' for the shortage of people volunteering to enlist?

I mean, like you say, it's no more dangerous than Detroit, right? So, why not join up??

10. Well,
Just as we support the troops without supporting the war, they support the war without supporting the troops.
