13. Real Leadership ...
A real leader would have written the memo himself three weeks ago; not quietly signed on yesterday, after it finally appeared to be politically safe to do so.

I thought Gore was bad four years ago, but John Kerry takes the cake. He is honest-to-god the biggest disappointment I have ever had with a "Liberal" Democrat, and this is a great example.

3. Durbin is one of Kerry's most trusted friends. Of course he would sign it.
Especially since he and Daschle were Gannon's main targets the last two years and the REAL reason why BushInc hired the male prostitute operative in the first place.

about Gannon/Guckert. Nothing.

Maybe I'm the only one at DU who gives a rat's ass, but this is nuts.

Have you e-mailed them? I never go to their website, but if you haven't called them on this, I will. It's ridiculous. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

18. I'm glad to hear this
Yay! I think this is a good sign. It shows there's something there with Gannon (at least with security and whatnot). Who knows what could come out of this? :toast:

10. Everyone -- write your senators! Sample letter:
This is the one I just emailed to mine:

"We have followed, with growing alarm, the story about the fake journalist, James Guckert, who was able to receive daily access to the White House. Now it appears he may have also received access to inside information regarding Valerie Plame's status as a covert CIA agent. What started as an amusing and titillating little story has now blown into what appears to be serious manipulation of the press by the White House. We strongly urge you to add your signature to the petition now being circulated by Senators Reid and Durbin asking for an investigation into this matter. Should this investigation be suppressed due to partisan politics, it calls into question the integrity of Congress itself."

15. Great news...
So long as it ends up being true and as soon as I can see a link! However, I'm delighted as hell if this pans out because it will just show that John Kerry is still in the war.

16. BIDEN'S office said this in response to my question about his signing
Edited on Thu Feb-24-05 02:42 PM by caligirl
I also posted this at Americablog.

I just spoke to a staff person in Bidens office. He said Biden won't sign the letter because he does not want the White House doing the investigating and putting out their own version of the facts. He DOES WANT a congressional investigation by the judiciary committee or an outside directed investigation.
Now I am not sure I recall Who Durbin's letter was asking to do the investigating in the GiGi matter but Bidens idea here sounds more reliable.

EDIT: I called his office to recheck my facts, his staffer said he wants
a) ajustice department investigation.
or
b)a Congressional inquiry/hearings/ judiciary committee hearings.

"He just doesn't want the White House investigating itself" per Bidens stafferat 11:45am today.

19. So should we just write our
congress leaders? Sounds like a smart move. Maybe this petition can be given to them and not a House thing? Cause that is a thing to remember. These people would give out some false information on the situation and the MSM will say "case closed" and whatnot.
