We know many things about the time when Bush lived in Midland, Tx and after he and Laura were married from reading "Fortunate Son". We know Bush was a raging alcoholic. We know he would disappear for days on his drunken excursions into Mexico. We know he would also leave on these drunken binges while the twins were babies, leaving Laura to worry where he was, if he was alive and also have to take care of these twins. We also know Bush hates to be challenged by anyone. We know he has to be dominant at all costs. We know there's always an anger about Bush when he's challenged. We also know Bush is very, very moody, probably suffering from clinical depression and is self medicating with the alcohol. Throw cocaine into the mix with the alcohol.

This profile is the classic profile of a wife beater. I can see scenarios when he beat Laura when the kids were crying or something went wrong, or she challenged him on something, or many of the situations including nothing at all that provoke a violent response from a wife beater.

Therefore, it's entirely likely that Bush beat Laura. All the symptoms are there and there's no reason to think he didn't.

Laura is (or at least was at that point in time) was completely and absolutely codependent.
