How will more of our money help bush and crew achieve their goals? Do you want more of the money you earned going to him and his salary/pet projects?

How will taking more money from the average joe help solve things nowadays? bush sqaunders it anyway - and in the end I suppose in the most cynical ways we could say government in general as it has grown larger has sucked away more money to use against us (or waste).

So do we feed the beast and hope and it does the right thing eventually with the money, or do we starve it and hope for reform?

Just hoping to get some input on the whole thing from fellow DU'ers.

1. Not if it means the financing of more military adventures
That's one of the few areas where Bush wants to increase government spending.

2. Starving the beast will not kill the bad projects...
and it will kill the programs that actually help people. Maybe that's what some of them need, they need to be hurt badly by these con men, selling their Horatio Alger myths of personal responsibility and fabulous wealth for all, but I can't bring myself to hasten its arrival. The wasteful spending (missile defense, most military R&D for that matter, big business subsidies, etc) won't be killed by giving them less money to spend...

3. DUPE We need to pay off debt now. Otherwise Bush will have
successfully bankrupted the American government so that Hilary cannot to ANYTHING when she gets into power.

We need taxes to go towards that debt right now. If Bush had his way we would not up taxes and he could get the debt as big as possible.

What do you think we are stupid?

4. 1st and foremost, I want those profiteers off death, EXPOSED!!!
Taxpayers should have an ABSOLUTE RIGHT to know where their money is being spent!!!

Let's just start with the 2.3 TRILLION DOLLARS THAT RUMSFIELD REFUSES TO ACCOUNT FOR!!!

Then, we can talk about raising or lowering taxes.

WHERE IS THE TAXPAYER MONEY, RUMMY?!?!?!?!
