* doing the "Dead bug."
One of Bush's favorite off-duty activities was pursuing the "aviation groupies" hanging around the bars and clubs near the base. He'd cruise by in his blue Triumph convertible, showing off a succession of impressive dates. And he loved carousing with the guys. The ritual was simple, according to a participant: Bellying up to the bar at a local tavern, someone in Bush's crowd would yell, "Dead bug," whereupon everyone would drop to the floor, flop onto his back, and twitch his arms and legs. The last one to hit the ground would have to buy the next round. "You'd drink until you couldn't see straight," and no one would care as long as you showed up for work the next morning, says a Bush cohort from those days. "The culture was different then."

15. Wouldn't matter

That was during his "youth", don't you know. Now that the Chimp has found god, all is forgiven. The fact that he is FAR worse now--destroying the world instead of just himself-- doesn't matter to his zombie followers. :eyes:

10. If he's too brain damaged to fly, he's not qualified as POTUS.
Can anyone help substantiate this comment on this blog? I'd seen in * records he was flying in two seaters before deserting. If this were why he was grounded it would seem if he's too brain damaged to fly, he's not qualified as POTUS.

I happened upon this website for the first time today, 1/17/05, and have read with interest the various comments on GWB's TNG duty. When the bruha surfaced prior to the November 2 election, there was a brief wire service item which flared like a roman candle and quickly vanished. It concerned the wife of the pilot who replaced Bush in his trainee jet. She had never publicly commented on this issue until this time when her family insisted she make a statement. She claimed that Bush was removed from the front seat of the jet because he could no longer land a plane safely, due to his long history of binge drinking. He was assigned to the rear seat and shortly after that was no longer flying. It was about this time that he disappeared in the wilds of Alabama on the election junket. Those who continue to defend his TNG record must know that where there's smoke, there's usually fire. This service record is too spotty when compared to tens of thousands of other Guard and regular service members. If Bush were not out of circulation for a year, there should have been many individuals who could have vouched for his whereabouts and activities. Granted, this is a footnote to history at this point but it adds another notch in Bush's personal history which reflects poorly on his performance and character.

16. Real fighter pilots (Wild Weasles) doing the "Dead Bug."

Here, the game is demonstrated on the flight line by the oh-so-serious "Wild Weasel" crew members of the 333TFS, Takhli RTAFB, Thailand, 1968. The Wild Weasels were guys who flew around North Viet Nam in F-105 "Thuds," hoping someone would fire a Surface-to-Air-Missile at them. Now the way you defeat a SAM is to immediately dive right at it as fast as you can! If it whizzes past your canopy at a 1,000 knot closing rate, it's a successful engagement. Then you fire your missile at the ground station that launched their missile. The F-105 was called the Thud because of the sound it made when it dropped out of the sky, which it always wanted to do since it was basically a brick with wings. Cool. 2 or 3 hours of this kind of fun and a guy could develop a thirst...

There's a wonderful Dead Bug sequence in "The Great Santini." Rent it.

That's a weird one indeed. From the picture URL it looks like it might have been associated with VAP-62 at NAF Jacksonville. What the hell is it?

19. You're right about the squadron
although this was taken after they transferred to Sanford, Florida.

The plane is a North American Aviation AJ-2P Savage. Two big 'ol Pratt and Whitney Double Wasps and a GE J-33 jet tucked up in the tail section....Navy's first carrier-based Nuclear bomber, this is the photographic version, later used as tankers....

My father was with VJ-62 and later with VAH-7. Retired from VAH-3 when they finally got the A5, Vigilante.

20. Now Bush does it face down on the floor of the Oval Office
in prayer (but maybe a little alcohol helps him get closer to his Maker)

http://www.democraticunderground.com/articles/04/08/20_floor.html

"...Bush has made many sacrifices for our troops, like praying face down on the floor and giving up sweets until they come home from Iraq. According to last year's book, The Faith of George Bush, "It became known that he (Bush) refused to eat sweets while American troops were in Iraq, a partial fast seldom reported of an American president."

The book also claims that "Aides found him face down on the floor in prayer in the Oval Office." ..."

21. Sounds like a typo to me. Shouldn't it read,
"Aides found him shit faced on the floor in the Oval Office"?

The Faith of George Bush has to be the Guiness Record Holder for most lies crammed into the fewest pages of any book ever published. What a pile of horseshit.
