Re: Bushco and Fake "News"
Here's an email I received a little while ago:

Dear ____,

Yesterday, The New York Times broke a major story outlining how the Bush administration has used millions of dollars of taxpayer money to produce and disseminate fake news programs that support their partisan political agenda.

These government-produced segments have frequently aired on broadcast TV stations across the country without proper disclosure.

Not only is this unacceptable, it is also illegal.

Take action today to help us Start Change:
Send a message to the FCC and ask them to STOP FAKE NEWS

In the end this is very simple.
Our broadcast television media operates on public airwaves.
We have rules about how these airwaves can be used.
We insist that the practice of local news stations airing government funded and produced propaganda without disclosure cease immediately.

Start Change Today: visit www.StopFakeNews.org and tell the FCC to stop the Bush Administration’s unlawful use of public funds for partisan propaganda.

Thank you for your support,

Arkadi, Marc, Tim and the rest of the StartChange team.

2. In my email to the FCC,
I requested a refund of that portion of my tax dollars
being spent on Bush's bogus bulletins.

I'll let you know when I get it.

5. Fox? What about Mainstream Media to begin with?
We all know it's completely biased, right? That's why we have bloggers, and such who will call out the Jeff Gannons of the world and say, "you're full it!"

6. Can you provide a bit of background info on the founders?
I did a quick google and couldn't really find anything.

If you are able to provide some info, I'd be very grateful.

7. These guys started the StopSinclair petition...
I found this at Kos:

Thank you for signing our petition at StopSinclair.org last October. You were one of 152,407 people who signed the petition and made a difference. In addition to signing our petition, 3595 of you pitched in money so that we could run targeted print and TV ads in Ohio and Nevada, and hundreds of you came to our rallies at Sinclair Corporate Headquarters in Maryland and in front of the White House.

We thank you.

We share the disappointment of so many with the election results. But, the campaign against Sinclair was a success. Because of your efforts, and those of other groups and concerned individuals, Sinclair Broadcasting backed down from their plan to run a biased attack ad on John Kerry.

You made a difference. You Stopped Sinclair.

We are writing you today to focus on the future, not the past. After talking to organizers across the country and media watchdog groups, we are convinced that we can build on the success of the StopSinclair campaign. So, today we are excited to announce a new online rapid response effort...

StopSinclair is now StartChange.

We are changing our name.

A new entity, StartChange, is being created to house our efforts. StartChange is a non-profit 501c(4) that will be used exclusively to coordinate online and offline rapid response efforts to make sure that companies play it fair, our press is truly free, and our politicians work genuinely in the public interest.

We want to let you know that you can choose to unsubscribe from StartChange now, or at any time in the future. If you wish to unsubscribe, please click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email.

At StartChange, we expect to launch our first campaign in a few weeks. We'll tell you about it when we do.

In the mean time there are a few things you can do to help get us started.

Check out our website: Visit StartChange.org

If you have any ideas for us, we'd love to hear them. You can help choose our first campaign and give us comments and ideas by clicking this link: StartChange.org/Get_Involved

Thank you for your support,
