Will Jeb use DCF to abduct Terri? Check out Freeper comments...
I thought Jeb Bush's discussion about taking Terri into custody were just silly ramblings.

They're serious???? They can do this???

I didn't really take it seriously when Jeb discussed this beyond-nuclear option.

He'd be usurping our entire democracy and thumbing his nose at our Judicial System!!

The Freepers have literally gone off the deep end. They are literally praying for Bush to storm the hospice and remove Terri.
Look at these unbelievable Freeper comments! They're losing it over there (link at end):

If he (Jeb) steps up to the plate and saves Terri, he can have the Oval Office in 2008. As well as be doing the right thing, of course.

JUST SEND IN THE MARSHALLA>>>>>>>>>>>>>GO GET HER JEB.

I can hardly write this I'm so torn up. Who's the next target of the liberal death squads? I shudder to think.

***by TXBubba
I'm going to have to go get my kid at school. I hope they have Terri in custody by the time I get back.

1. What worries me is that these idiots will decide to
take matters into their own hands, if you get my drift

I have said it before, this could very well be a Fort Sumter event, and the Bushes have pushed the country to the brink... will they be able to control the shit storm they have unleashed?

22. Michael didn't make the choice...
Edited on Wed Mar-23-05 06:04 PM by melissinha
Michael Schiavo did not make the decision to discontinue life-prolonging measures for Terri.

http://abstractappeal.com/schiavo/infopage.html

Rather than make the decision himself, Michael followed a procedure permitted by Florida courts by which a surrogate such as Michael can petition a court, asking the court to act as the ward's surrogate and determine what the ward would decide to do. Michael did this, and based on statements Terri made to him and others, he took the position that Terri would not wish to continue life-prolonging measures. The Schindlers took the position that Terri would continue life-prolonging measures. Under this procedure, the trial court becomes the surrogate decision-maker, and that is what happened in this case.

...The trial court determined that, even applying the "clear and convincing evidence" standard -- the highest burden of proof used in civil cases -- the evidence showed that Terri would not wish to continue life-prolonging measures.

21. I...I....I DID IT!!!!
Waaaaaahhhhhh...

They...they...they tied me to a chair and forced me to watch FoxNews, hour after hour while they had Charlie Daniels singing in the background. Then they had me strip and lay in a naked pyramid with the cast of "Hee-Haw" while threatening to run me over with a Hummer...then Cokie Roberts tied a leash to me and...and...

ENOUGH!!!

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

He'd be usurping our entire democracy and thumbing his nose at our Judicial System!!

Are you really surprised enough to use two exclamation points? This should be the kind of conduct we expect.

7. GA Voter...
I feel like using 50 exclamation points at the end of most of my sentences on DU.

I will never be used to all of this.

I am always outraged and sometimes surprised.

The level of evil and tyranny is so mindblowing--that I'm still coming out of denial about it.

4. Jeb will do no such thing.
He is being pressured to do so, but if he wanted to do it he would have.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but Jeb is the most sensible Bush, and I think he's trying to play both sides. Sending in marshalls would put him decisively in the nutso camp, and I don't think he's ready to make that leap.

I have to say I'm surprised at this turn of events. If I lived in Florida right now, I'd be a little afraid.

I really did think Jeb had some sense, but turns out he's as bent on satisfying the nutso voting block as his brother is.

These people are completely over the top and out of control. It's like this is a symptom of the schism in this country played out in this poor woman's end game.

If anyone ever doubted it before, the TALIBAN has arrived in the U.S. and is fighting for ultimate control, the law and the courts be damned

23. ah hell he is the one who put his big foot in it a couple of years
ago in the first place. the whole thing had been adjudicated and the court ordered the feeding tube removed. that's when he stepped in and stopped the process at the family's request. he acted unconstitutionally and the legislature acted unconstitutionally but it took what 2 yrs maybe to get to this point again. so he really started all of this crap in the first place.

he is as bad as his brother. he just a little slicker and a little smoother. he is probably the bigger crook/hypocrite of the two.

13. They have lost their minds...and if I was Michael Schiavo--
I would protect myself from these imbalanced freaks.

I would pack up Terri, several hospice members with their medical equipment--and I'd create a mobile hospice in an RV--and get the hell out of dodge.

Michael has the legal right to make decisions for her--more than 20 judges have said so.

Being forced to wait around for Jeb Bush and the armed Social Services brigade--is unacceptable.

Terri deserves to have her wishes honored. Michael has been validated by the courts and he deserves to be alone with this wife--during this heart wrenching, private time.

Can he be arrested for obstruction of justice if he does?

Either way, it'd be political suicide. The fundie fringe that makes up 15% of the nation is not enough to carry you through. And that's the only people on board with this. The only ones. Florida is teeming with elderly residents. This type of thing hits close to home to those in their golden years.

To: Dr.Zoidberg
I have a feeling it will be ringing soon..If this Govt fails to take action to save this woman than how can we be a beacon to the world. How can we send our young men and women into battle to die for strangers to have freedom when we can't even save one of our own from ourselves. If she dies, the liberals have won.

Or at least that is what we should tell all the Irrational Religious Right Wingers who want a country based on Biblical Law instead of Constitutional Law.

This is one of those issues that can wedge apart True Conservatives and Religious Whacko Conservatives.
