5. Skipping Ohio
Edited on Mon Apr-04-05 06:42 PM by Demgirl
His office, which was initially very interested, has turned down attending the Annual Dinner of the largest Democratic county in Ohio on Sunday, April 10 - Cuyahoga County. What gives?

If they moved it to Columbus would he attend?

7. They turned down our county in Florida once also.
I think they try to do everything they can, but there is still organizing to do on the ground in DC. I guess they try, but the demand is huge.

8. Its one of the biggest Dem counties
in the US. I hope he plans to stop by sometime this year, or they can forget 2006 and 2008.

The brief message declining the invitation almost seemed like a snub. I hope he has something else more important to attend to.

10. His office

could decline politely and offer a good explanation along with an offer to visit at a later date. That's not very hard to do.

I've been a huge Dean supporter for the last 2 years, but have been dismayed at the way he's started relations with Dems in Ohio since taking over the chairmanship. Its puzzling, this isn't the first time he's snubbed Cuyahoga County. What gives?

11. I think you should ask through the DNC.
There is a way to contact there.

Since he is on the road nearly every day, I think you are being a little unfair. He is not exactly sitting on his butt.

12. A Dem group is marking down this Yahoo story about Dean and Arkansas.
Help rate this story. One does not have to like Howard Dean to be glad he is making efforts in the South. It is a shame to see it rated so low.

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=519&ncid=703&e=7&u=/ap/20050405/ap_on_re_us/dean_arkansas

LITTLE ROCK - "Howard Dean, former governor of Vermont and now chairman of the Democratic National Committee, will be the keynote speaker Friday at the Association of State Democratic Chairs luncheon.

Dean will highlight the committee's agenda to strengthen the state parties in his speech.

"We are excited about Governor Dean's first visit to Arkansas as Democratic National Committee Chairman," said Jason Willett, chairman of the Democratic Party of Arkansas.

Willett said Dean shares many values with Arkansans. "He is a fiscal conservative and a social progressive who has a strong record of fighting for seniors and working families," he said. "END SNIP

The C-Span video from his TN appearance should be up soon. He was warmly received. It was a great speech and response. I resent that groups that claim to be Democrats would mark a story down like this. And no, I won't link. Just take my word. I don't lie.

27. And here he was at the Radio TV dinner...same table as Rove.
http://www.mediabistro.com/fishbowlDC/events/radiotv_dinner_part_ii_20274.asp

"Many guests raced through their meals at their assigned tables to mingle with other guests and tables. The oddest pairing of the evening, as has been noted elsewhere, belonged to ABC, who placed Howard Dean and Karl Rove just one seat apart--and placed George Stephanopoulos right in between."
