Sorry if this has already been discussed
But in The Columbus Disgrace, (Columbus, Ohio right wing newspaper) there is an article where this Rev. Parsley says, "Church-state seperation a lie" There was a "Let reformation begin" rally here in Columbus, and this sounds bad folks! There were 5000 people at this rally, and it's going to be an 11 city tour. This can't be happening!!!! I am sick at my stomach! Can we find out who is financing this trash? This has to be against the law!

2. Their premise is unconstitutional
but these clowns are even saying Jefferson wanted the church and state to be the same. Don't know who is sponsoring it, but there's a whole group of Christians, Buddhists, Sihks, and other faiths that are holding a National Day of Prayer AGAINST these bozos - it will be April 24. I announced it at our Dances of Universal Peace service today-spread the news far and wide!

4. Blackwell
will be there today. Can someone with some clout go to the Columbus Dispatch archives and look up the Metro&State section, page B3? I am telling Americans United for the Seperation of Church and State about this, can more of you do the same?

5. I'm glad to hear of April 24. I did hear one of the 'bozo's' on tv talking
about history being rewritten to reflect bozonian point of view. So I guess that if Thomas Jefferson did not support the separation of church-state..(which I doubt is true given Jefferson's radical experience with the formation of a new government to replace the 'evils' of the old world which Jefferson was more than a little familiar with)..Regardless, I'm sure if the story doesn't pan out the way the bozo's want they will simply rewrite history the bozonian way.

11. Here are some of the Founding Fathers Views on Religion:
Quotes are arranged in a question/answer format, to highlight common arguments.

Argument one: The phrase 'separation of Church and state' is of recent origin, and the concept was not known or promulgated by the founders.

False. The phrase was first used in Thomas Jefferson's Letter to the Danbury Baptists:

"Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between man and his God, that he owes account to none other for is faith or his worship, that the legislative powers of government reach actions only, and not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between Church and State. Adhering to this expression of the supreme will of the nation in behalf of the rights of conscience, I shall see with sincere satisfaction the progress of those sentiments which tend to restore to man all his natural rights, convinced he has no natural right in opposition to his social duties."

James Madison, principal author of the constitution:

"The civil Government, though bereft of everything like an associated hierarchy, possesses the requisite stability, and performs its functions with complete success, whilst the number, the industry, and the morality of the priesthood, and the devotion of the people, have been manifestly increased by the total separation of the church from the State." (1819).

6. At my church today the minister came out strongly against the
arrogant politicians and the officious preachers who are ruining the Christian faith. He said that their Christianity is not anything he recognizes or wants to recognize. His Christianity is based on gentle love, trust, charity and grace. He urged us all to see the truth of their actions.
