You know what, never mind...
Edited on Sun Apr-24-05 04:25 PM by mahina
on second thought, MADem is totally right, never mind. I want so much to change their minds but instead of working on that I'll work on building our community here and at home.
Off to church, with aloha,

1. My input is let them stew in their ignorance and hatred
We don't need to stir their pot, just as they don't need to stir ours. They are stupid, ignorant, fearful people, who believe that the glass is always less than half full, that letting other people live their lives somehow infringes on theirs, and the enemy is just over the hill. What a horrible way to live.

Leave them to their bitterness, shallow-mindedness and righteous indignation. If they can't be happy owning the House, Senate, executive and judicial branches, then they have serious problems that someone from this end of the spectrum, trolling over there, won't cure.

Feck 'em and fergit 'em, I say!!!

2. I hear you, but they don't get us at all
and hear misinfo if any info. Thanks for your wise kindness, always good to hear from you. You are right I suppose...I should have learned long ago not to ask for help I don't really need.
Still...I wish so much they could get us just for a minute.
sigh

9. It will never happen
They are not wired the same way. They are guided by fear, threat, and hatred. They want to hang on to their shit, and they believe that anyone different from them endangers their world view. You won't change their hearts or minds, all you will do is unleash a torrent of tiny trolls fucking with us. Who needs that? Leave them--look at them like dog poop. If it is in your house, you gotta clean it up. If it is off in the distance, out of harm's way, it will decompose on its own with a bit of time and weather.

3. Yes, here you go
It is simple:

"Say what you will about liberals, a fabricated term used to manipulate small minds, but at least consider the facts: Watergate, Iran Contra, S&L crash, FEMA fraud after the Florida storms, sending people to die for a lie. Whatever label you choose for a person of integrity is fine by us, be it liberal or otherwise. The facts speak for themselves. I blue dress does not death make. You and yours can count blood on your hands and for that there is no apology or excuse or even a political stance. What you stand for is not relevant to us, liberals as you call us. What you stand for is the complete rape, murder, and destruction of anything human in favor of mega-corporations. We value humanity, you value greed. Feel free to use labels, we use facts."

4. No. 23
I genuinely believe that no culture is morally superior to any other.

I can think of one good example of someone who thought his culture was morally superior to any other.

Austrian fellow. Funny little moustache.

8. (Not that
using Hitler as a bad example will have much impact on the neo-fascist dimbulbs at FR. They probably think he was "misunderstood", or that the liberal media has given him a bad name.)

12. I can agree with quite a few of those statements...
...After they are reframed in a truthful way, stripping out the inflammatory codewords and intellectual dishonesty.

Here's my pet answer for the most basic, fundamental, distilled-to-the-very-essence difference between "Conservatism" and "Liberalism":

The motto of Conservatives is "It's all about me".

The motto of Liberalism is "We're all in this together.
