ABC News just did short story on Justice Sunday
Edited on Sun Apr-24-05 07:45 PM by NormaR
showed some of the speakers but none of the extreme, scary parts

Then showed Faith and Freedom rally, Jim Wallis, I believe, saying it was wrong to question the faith of political opponents

Showed Lindsay Graham on Fox saying it is wrong to challenge the faith of political opponents, it's wrong, and he does not beleive that opponents don't have faith. This was good.

I was glad they showed the counter rally. They have no numbers of attendees to either event. Wish they had shown the really frightening comments made by some JS speakers (judges not final arbiters of "constitutionality"???? Jesus wants you to fight the filibuster, with your cell phone????), the founding fathers did not want sodomy to be legal????.

3. This is what Justice Sunday produced from their hatefest:

"First thing Monday morning, I need everyone here -- and everyone who's watching this telecast -- to call their senator and say, 'I want a straight up or down vote,'" said Tony Perkins, president of the Family Resource Council.

The Council and other groups broadcasted the 90-minute "Justice Sunday" event out of their concern that too many "activist judges" are being unchecked in the United States.

"There are five black-robed justices telling the other two branches of government what to do and no one can do anything about it," said Dr. James Dobson, founder of Focus on Families.

<...>

Throughout the broadcast, the phone numbers of specific senators, including that of Sen. Jon McCain, R-Ariz., were displayed, as well as the main phone number for the U.S. Senate switchboard.

We have our work cut out for us, folks. WE outnumber THEM.

Work those phones!!
