I just donated $9.37 to a progressive satire blog. Want to know why?

Last night, my wife and I attened a Democracy for America meeting.

It was late at night, so she insisted we buy dinner from a drive-thru.

Unfortunately, we don't have an Arby's or a Sonic around here, so we were stuck with Burger King-- which is a Republican company.

Arby's 59%

Sonic 100%

Burger King 35%

We spent $9.37 for a Happy Meal for the baby and a value meal for my wife.

Being a good Democrat, I didn't buy anything.

So now I have donated $9.37 to "The Swift Report," ( http://swiftreport.blogs.com/ )a progressive blog that satarizes the right-wing.

I first learned about them through the stirr created by their fake press release about Laura Bush's horse-masturbating joke.

2. What a great idea.
It's difficult to avoid buying from anti-progressive companies, but when forced to do so make amends by making a contribution to the progressive cause in one form or another.

I'll remember that.

3. Thank you. Technically, I could have gotten away with $6.09
Burger King is 35% Democrat, 65% Republican.

So, I could have donated 65% of $9.37 which is $6.09.

4. I'm glad to see so many other progressives
are unwilling to contribute to fascist-enabling corporations.

It seems to take me FOREVER to go grocery shopping; not only am I a vegetarian, I also have a long list of companies which I refuse to support.

It isn't much, but it is one less thing I have to feel guilty about.
