The new John Kerry ad in USA Today is fabulous - help run it!
Up until now, I have contributed to many progressive causes, but have not given a dime to John Kerry since Election Day.

I just received an email from JohnKerry.com, and it contains the ad that is to be run on Tuesday (re: nuclear option).

It links Bush, Frist, and Delay. It pulls no punches. It is extremely powerful.

The check is in the mail, John.

You deserve it.

Please join me.

Which does not require donation.

I get Kerry's e-mails at home but don't check that everyday because my home connection is slow.

I'm tapped out as far as money goes right now.

10. Next Tuesday's USA Today
This will be the second ad that the Friends of John Kerry, Inc. runs. He wants people to donate now, so that they will be included in the number (now left blank) at the bottom of the ad.

I gave. :)

7. Great Ad! Good way to get people's attention!
I appreciate you posting this. I have been concerned we have gotten too quite about this "nuclear option". I may even contribute a little to support the running of this ad. I like how john Kerry keeps on top of issues like this that are important.

They think it's all about them.

Reminds me of an episode of Married With Children when Marcy was lambasting her second husband for stealing from her, and his answer is, "Why is it always about you?" She tries to hold him accountable for his actions; he accuses her of being motivated by selfishness. Marcy should have responded, "No, it's about what you do TO me!!!"

We know that the Bush camp doesn't care what anyone thinks. We know that their have and have-more backers are their real constituents. We know that they have no use for policies and laws that do not enrich, empower, or protect them. But the glory of this ad is that it's a laundry list of how much they've done to butress their self-preservation, and of how little they've done for ours. Why IS it always about them?

28. I am talking about the ad posted above...
If we also copy and distribute, more people can see it -- in fact, this would be even more effective in that people get to seeing it immediately (without having to turn the pages of a newspaper :-() -- just trying to amplify JK's effort at spreading the truth about these wackos and changing the parameters of the debate ("it is not about them, but about you")...

coffee shops..... Leave them anywhere, everywhere. We have to be the media. leave them rolled and tossed onto lawns in your neighborhood. Take the family for a walk, one evening a week, spreading the word.

39. The entire Democratic Party ought to be running ads like this.
This is an issue we can win on, and we ought to be using all our resources to get this message out. If frames the Republicans as the extremists they are.

56. As do I (usually) - but this is too important not to help along
DFA is wonderful, as is MoveOn and TrueMajority.

But this ad is MAINSTREAM - every business person waking up in every hotel in America is going to see it.

Every commuter running in to a 7-11 for coffee and the USA Today is going to see it.

Every air traveler waiting at the gate and looking to kill time is going to see it.

Right wing radio is going to go nuts over it.

I hope you'll rethink your position, but if not then at least sign the petition.

Please?? :)

50. It's really good for two reasons
1. Kerry's back in activist mode, thinking outside the box, looking for indirect ways to influence government. Extraordinary times call for extraordinary strategies. He has the imagination, dedication and optimism to keep fighting.

2. All of us can take part in it, through signing petitions and giving financial support, and just spreading the word. That makes this a populist movement, and keeps us interested and engaged in our government.

54. I like it! Yay for our activist senator! He's out there fighting for
healthcare for all kids, too.

Some may look at his activism as simply a political ploy. So effing what!!!

He is doing something for the betterment of our country.

So is Boxer with her PAC for liberal candidates and Kucinich with his Department of Peace campaign, Dean with his state activism, and Conyers with his leadership on election reform and more.

Taken on the surface (leave the politics out of it) these are all wonderful, progressive ideals.
