1. Exit polls?
Haven't we learned not to rely on exit polls?

5. exit polls
We used the results in Ukraine to force a second election.
They're damn accurate; 8,000 sample is accurate +/- 1%.
Maybe you were being satirical, or sarcastic?

7. They are typically very good in Europe.
I have never seen an exit poll not announce the results in Great Britain. That would be a first.

4. If the Reluctant Responder Principle Works
than Labor voters should be a little more reluctant to respond, and Labor does somewhat better than the polls would suggest. We'll see what happens.

9. Liberal Democrats losers as well
Edited on Thu May-05-05 04:32 PM by Mass
If the results are correct, the liberal Democrats are winning very few representative (2 according to the exit polls).

This is a very bad news because it will tilt the chamber toward an even more pro-Bush position.

The BBC and ITV projections, based on a survey of 13,000 or more voters in 115 closely contested districts, suggested Labour would win 356 seats, ahead of the main opposition Conservatives with 209. The Liberal Democrats, the only major party to oppose the Iraq war, were projected to win 53 seats — for them a disappointing gain of two seats.

10. If This Holds, It's Probably the Best Possible Result
Edited on Thu May-05-05 04:25 PM by DoveTurnedHawk
Labour remains in power, which is good for the UK in general, but Blair's influence is sharply diminished while the influence of Labour's anti-war back-benchers grows.

Hopefully Brown will take Blair's place in the not-too-distant future as a result.
