Here is why I wish that NO HARM comes to George W. Bush....
A newstory came in today, that a grenade device was launched at Bush today.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=102&topic_id=1460592&mesg_id=1460592

I am glad that he wasn't hurt. Sure he's an asshole, and I wouldn't mind getting into a barfight with that ass and cutting him up with broken glass. But since he is president (legality in question), there is one thing I don't want ...and that's a martyr.

I don't want to....
1) Land in any George W. Bush airports
2) Use any George W. Bush monies
3) Go to any George W. Bush theatres
4) Drive on any George W. Bush highways (probably with no exit strategies)
5) See more "W" stickers than I have to.
6) Watch hours of "Bush's legacy" on the History Channel
7) Fly my flag at half-mast for the dumbass
8) Have another neo-con elected because we felt sad for "our president"

and so on.

Just my observation. So in case anyone was thinking of "what if...", considering today's news. This is just something to think about.

Damn.

Ugh.

President Cheney.

I thought nothing could be worse, but damn. President Cheney ain't no sock puppet, either.

Damn. That is the most disturbing thought I've seen in a loooong time.

23. Been my pet theory for a long while now...
..that having Cheney as VP is perfect Assassination Insurance. Anyone who rabidly hates * enough to want to take him out would almost certainly be deterred by the notion of Cheney officially taking control of the administration. (As opposed to his current unofficial capacity of course...)

25. Not that I'd want to see it, but President Cheney would be BETTER than
Edited on Wed May-11-05 05:28 AM by FourStarDemocrat
having President Georgie. In the sense that Cheney would still be dangerous, but less so than Bush. He would still bring all the problems giftwrapped from PNAC, but his ties to the rightwing fundies are less established, he does not talk about getting messages from God, would probrably not be as interested in passing anti-gay legislation and shit like the FMA. In short, we would still have a corporate puppet, PNAC- criminal guy, but I think you'd have less of the fundamental-theocracy looniness that we also get from the chimp.

edit: for spelling

If he just goes away after his term he can be remembered years from now as the disgrace he is. But die in office? geez. I don't want to think of that. His smirk would probably be put on Mt. Rushmore--where FDR is now of course. And the idea of a GWB highway really scares me. No idea where the on ramp or off ramp is, and when you do find the off ramp you would probably drive right into oncoming traffic in the opposite direction and kill yourself. You are right. Its better that he lives.

14. Astrology?!?
We should think twice before spouting pseudo-scientific tripe like this. Ever.

What happens when we begin explaining Global Climate Change in scientific terms?

What happens when we begin pointing out the scientifically predictable consequences of nuclear war?

What happens when we begin arguing over the scientific merits of evolution theory with religious zealots?

Let's stick to REAL science, please. Otherwise, we have no rational ground to stand on.

17. Right! There is NOTHING scientific about astrology AT ALL!!!
The words "science" and "astrology," together, make no sense. The former is a methodology (sciencing) used by the greater scientific community, and the latter is belief.

21. Are the schools that bad in Kansas?

I know you were being sarcastic, but with folks promoting "Intelligent Design" here in Southern schools, it really makes me wonder.

It's really quite simple:
Astrology = Belief

24. So, please explain to us...
how come that the most renowned astrologer of the world, K.N. Rao is able to predict so exactly, if it´s not a science...?

22. I don't wish harm for fellow humans in general
Especially bush. Pray for you enemies, do good to those that despise you, and you will heap coals of fire on to their heads.

I don't want to be the right, I don't want the hate to take me over. Bush and I don't agree on things, I think he is wrong and performing poorly at this point. I don't think he is doing the job for the whole of america nor do I think he cares for the poor or sick.

My goal is to get the message across to others how poorly he is doing in his job so that his agency (republicans) are fired (as well as complicit dems, which seems to be most nowadays). I can do that without anger or hatred, and just use some basic information on what he has done and what he wants to do and how that is bad.

The better bush does at what he wants, the more people will see how wrong the plans of the right are for america. It is up to us to be the preachers and missionaries out there converting the people who don't have the time or desire to pay close attention.

27. I agree & for the same reasons, I don't want to see him have any success
as president because in the long run it'll just mean more of the same neocon bullshit artists running the country. Make that RUINING the country, not running it.

28. I don't want him turned into a martyr
One day, unless he declares martial law and crowns himself Emperor Georgie until the end of time, the Shrub will take himself and Pickles back to Crawford to do whatever it is he does there (bound to be some brush left to clear).

OTOH, if anything truly bad were to happen to him while he's still President, he would be with us forever. "St. President Bush", beatified by his doting followers. Seriously, it's bad enough as it is, but can you imagine how it would be if someone harmed him? There would never be an end to it.

I don't believe I could stand it.

If they name an airport, or a street, or anything else after this criminal, I personally will never use that name for it. Unless it's a landfill. Maybe.
