Scarborough: "Freedom" apparently "drives leftists into a rage"
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6330851/

More than 300,000 Georgian citizens came out to hear the American President speak on his favorite topic: freedom. It is a subject the President knows well and a topic that citizens of the former Soviet state want to learn more about.

While the world celebrated the 60th anniversary of Hitler's demise, many countries in Eastern Europe reminded the world this weekend that in 1945, they traded in a Hitler for a Stalin. Considering the Soviet butcher killed even more of his own people than Hitler, the transfer of power was not a great bargain.

Eastern Europe's liberation did not come at the hands of FDR and Churchill. Instead, it was Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, and Pope John Paul II who set them free in 1989. While that conservative triumvirate drove many leftists into a rage, it also drove the Soviet Union out of existence.

Maybe that's why our new allies in Georgia, Latvia, and Poland appreciate the gift of freedom more than those who received in from American soldiers 60 years ago this week. The French and Germans don't have to be as gracious as our new Georgian friends. I just want them to show us a little loyalty the next time America needs a few friends at the United Nations.

On Imus' Show, Joe Scarborough Laughed about Dead Staffer
07-Jun-03
Joe Scarborough

From the Daily Dystopian blog: "Conservative MSNBC news host Joe Scarborough was a guest on MSNBC's Imus show last Thursday, May 29. In complementing Scarborough on his sense of humor, Imus said, 'Don't be afraid to be funny, because you are funny. I asked you why you aren't in Congress. You said that you had sex with the intern and then you had to kill her.' To which Scarborough laughed, 'Yeah, ha, ha ha, well, what are you gonna do?'" As the Political Amazon (politicalamazon.com) wrote us, Lori "Klausutis is the Scarborough intern who was found dead in Scarborough's Fort Walton Beach office on July 21, 2001. At the same time that cable news shows on Fox and MSNBC were hounding Democratic Rep. Gary Condit over the disappearance of Chandra Levy... Scarborough appears to have been granted a free pass... Regardless of whether Scarborough actually murdered Lori Klaustis, his casual joking about her death is inexcusable." Send complaints to viewerservices@msnbc.com

9. Right!!
They have been loyal allies for decades. Now the Chimp says, "bend over and show us a little loyalty!" And when they say "no thanks," jerks like Scarborough complain.

Fuckwads!

(Do these idiots ever stop and consider how RIGHT countries like France turned out to be?!)

12. Loyalty
A truly loyal friend will try to talk you out of doing something idiotic and/or suicidal like driving home drunk (or starting an illegal war that will unleash Armageddon). That's what France and Germany did. They even tried to take America's car keys away at the UN.

I just wish they'd have been successful.

3. How much money did Joe Scarborough receive from Tom Delay.
Enquiring minds want to know.

How much money did Tom Delay funnel to Joe Scarborough while he was a Congressman from Florida.

Tom and Joe.

6. You know...
...he's right. I am driven into a rage by cheap-ass rhetoric invoking the concept of freedom in an entirely out-of-context way. What an insightful thing for him to say... :eyes:

11. "Delusional" does not even begin to describe it
Yes, the "freedom" is Bush's favorite topic. Perhaps if Joe went to Iraq and Afghanistan to experience the infamous freedom for himself, it would do well to show him what the reality actually is. If he would only look at how the US has thrown undesirable journalists out of Iraq, or how people are routinely cast into prisons for no reason, or how torture and disgusting abuse is normal for detainees (who have not been accused or given a semblance of a trial), or how soldiers batter down the doors and search and disrespect families' homes without any reason or justification, or how innocents are subjected to suicide bombings or US fire or resistance fire, or how entire cities have been decimated because of the US, or how living conditions are abysmal and much worse than before the invasion (malnutrition, food, water, houses, jobs, electricity, schools...need I continue?), or how the "elections" of Iraq have not done a single thing to help the country and how this very puppet government is only the pawn of the US.

If only he would realize what this "freedom" really is.

The USSR collapsed by itself, and in its wake has not been much to cheer about. Do not make the mistake of thinking that because the USSR was "bad", the US is then the reason for the collapse of such a system, and that the US is now justified and "good" (actually, the opposite is true).

Who said free? Certainly not me?

"The world is watching!" - Freedom, US style.

More US Freedom.

It is also good to note that Georgia itself underwent a POPULAR REVOLUTION IN 2003. Bush, nor Reagan, nor Thatcher or any other base neo-con had any part in making changes in that very country. The PEOPLE accomplished that much, and we should look to do the same.

16. Their rambling
is getting more nutty and less coherent by the minute.

Weren't they just praising Churchhill yesterday? About not surrendering and all that?

So, now by association with FDR (the Right's boogeyman - and coincidentally the only president to win a war on two fronts), Churchhill also gets fucked.

These people are simply insane.

19. Real Freedom begins with: Freedom from POOR LEADERSHIP
and POOR POLICIES....resulting in a REGRESSION of our lifestyles.

Freedom from Misery and High Unemployement/homelessness.

Freedom from stupid wars that cost blood and treasure....

Freedom from WASTE and STINGYNESS. We waste our resources on needless wars, conflicts, and are very stingy with our children, we leave them gifts of "debts?"(The National DEBT)

I could go on for hours but you get the pic... The Pubs are using the Freedom word like they own it....

and remember, not a peep about Freedom until the WMD was not found in Iraq.....
