Laura Bush is repairing the damage done by Newsweek
This is the spin they are putting on her trip and it's revolting.

Newsweek magazine has destroyed our entire image overseas with their one sentence in the Periscope section!!!

Now we are forced to send our esteemed First Lady to repair the damage done by these evil people at Newsweek!

We were beloved until this happened. Add to that the injury of the Saddam underwear photos today and the image of the benevolent and wonderful America is gone.

Save us, Laura! Save our image! Please, madame Bush, please.

8. I agree
I can't imagine anyone in the Middle East caring what that woman has to say. I know I don't care what she has to say because she is always repeating the lies of her husband.

4. Yes, they're getting an economic talk
from a woman who worked three !@#$%! years, and married into the family with the dirtiest money in America. That will fix everything!

5. Doubt that very much. Women who speak in public, making veiled
criticism of their husband's hands on treatment of farm animals and references to their shortcomings in evening pastimes are probably not well received in the Middle East.

9. Women who get up in front of a group of journalists
and talk about a night out at Chippendales probably won't be well received in the Muslim world -- even if the Chippendale remarks were obviously an awkward attempt at a joke. Incredible.

6. I hope her visit helps! A few more incidents like this and our
image in the region will begin to tarnish!

7. She's no Eleanor Roosevelt, that's for one thing. No Jackie Kennedy, either
I have to laugh and laugh about this whole "Laura is just so charming that she will singlehandedly make the Arabs love America" thing.

She's not.

12. I've asked this before
but never gotten an answer. Why is Laura Bush called "Pickles"? It's not obvious, like "Chimpy".

14. Don't know but it's fitting isn't it.
Perhaps someone else can chime in and explain the origin of Pickles.
I think I had it explained to me once but forgot.

17. I think it is chimpy's
term of endearment. I want 2 know why we NEVER hear anything about her family? R her parents still living? does she have siblings? We have had stories about other first ladies - why not pickles?
