Newsweek Japan
I know that some DUers live in Japan and others know Japanese. A freeper I know is flogging this Newsweek think and came up with a Feburary 2nd issue of Newsweek Japan to up the heat. Anyone know the context of the picture, what the associated articles have to say? Thanks.

1. I couldn't see your picture, but I located a cover on a Japanese web site

It's quite a scathing commentary of the bu$h administration. The headline reads "The Day America Died".

I've located a synopsis of the article and will post about it later.

4. Here's a synopsis
Edited on Mon May-23-05 09:10 AM by Art_from_Ark
"During his 2nd inaugural address, Bush brought up his vision of expanding freedom. However, as can be clearly seen from the chaos in Iraq, the important thing is not so much the ideal, but rather what takes shape. How does one look at Bush's historical record? That's the problem. Other presidents have brought up the theme of "expanding freedom". But unlike his predecessors, Bush brings the fervor of a man of religion into the picture. Freedom is still a common topic in the world. However, such a goal also shows America's hypocritical attitude. That is, America forces its judgment of good or bad on other countries. Maybe freedom will expand, maybe a constant pushing is the right way. However, other countries are terrified. That is, once again, the administration is pursuing the profits of coercive freedom. One could even say that the "American dream" has rotted away. American itself has failed to realize this, and is possessed by this dream."
