I am sick of hearing this on the MSM without that clarification.

14. Thanks, so that shows a column for "against"
I don't live in california, is that different from running unopposed?

2. That was a question I had a couple of days ago. Thanks!
I kind of suspected that.

Someone who is unopposed just sort of slides by.

3. I knew it, but I doubt most people do.
More "convenient" journalism from the Heritage Foundation, I suspect.

4. How many votes did she get out of the total number of voters
i'm guessing only 7% of California voters even cast a vote for judge or even know about her record. that stat is perfect for the GOP. misleading

5. It is an amazing spin point that is rarely corrected
The reverse spins should be she ran unopposed at 24% of the people voted against her! (How did they do that?!!!)

12. You can not vote
I would guess that she got only 76% of the electorate voting for her. The rest just left it blank.

Not too impressive, since she was unapposed.

7. Wow. I never even thought of that possibility.
And, of course, it has never been mentioned in the MSM.

9. Of course, the people trumpeting that statistic know it
But they're counting on you rubes not to know it. Fortunately, they're aided and abetted by their pals in the liberal media, and the impression is left that Ms. Brown ran in a contested race like any other politician and won with the staggering total of 76%.

Hey rube!

10. It must have been a question regarding retention that was on the ballot.
Many states do this, including Florida, for Supreme Court and state appeals court judges.

This is similar to the votes judges get in Florida--there is always a hard core that votes against all judges when they are up for retention.

13. We should note that one-fourth of Californians voted against her ...
even though she was unopposed.
