Why not outsource health insurance?

Can I buy my insurance in Honduras? Why do I gotta buy from the Blues? We outsource everything else. Just dumb wondering.

1. Because then the HMO's couldn't screw you the way they do now.

Not sure really. Only reason I could think of.

A lot of MRI's and testing of that sort are being sent digitally to another country for reading. It's less expensive than having an expert on staff. I saw the story on one of those news shows like 20/20, but can't remember which one.

3. Have read that much medical transcription is done overseas also

After a few years of having people in rural populations pay to learn the field and then work at home at private contractors (paying for the use of the 'special computers') supplied by the schools/employer, those jobs are also leaving the US.

Yep, folks, your medical records, like your financial records, are now zapped around the globe. Since Bank of America can't/won't provide/pay for enough security to keep your bank records safe from identity theft, think about your medical records out there among the crooks.

Talk about threats to Homeland Security! How about every private detail of American's lives laid bare out there for anyone to take advantage of? How safe is that? What is more likely: being a victim of an Oklahoma City type blast or having some hacker sell your identity to someone for fraudulent purposes? What are the REAL threats to most people?
