Poll question: George W = Lame Duck
Edited on Wed May-25-05 03:45 PM by stopbush
Lost on filibuster.

Will have to veto stem cell.

Polls show the country hates him.

Got his ass kicked on SS.

Rs turning on him as fast as they can to save their own asses.

Or not?

4. A Lame Duck can do a LOT of damage.
John Linder's "National Sales Tax" proposal is still on the table.

We'd better ALL hope and / or PRAY that it's as UNsuccessful as the Social Security plan.

If the National Sales Tax proposal goes down the toilet, THEN I will celebrate and call him a lame duck. Until then, as long as his finger is on THAT particular trigger, I'm not celebrating jack shit.

This is what the National Retail Federation thinks:

Retailers Urge Tax Reform Panel to Reject Consumption Tax Proposals

5. What Frightens Me More Is That He Doesn't See Himself As A Lame Duck
It is as a man who can not contemplate his own death. I do not think that Bush expects his Presidency to end. I think he will attempt to run for a third term. Yesterday we were shown clearly that the rules do not matter any more.

10. If Bush is perceived to be a lame duck, then he is a lame duck
Perception is what counts here. Bush blew it with social security and is looking fairly weak right now. He is getting closer to lame duck status every day.
