Not on the move for cloture, but rather the old-fashioned, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington filibuster where Dodd or Boxer or another Dem takes the floor late this afternoon and just never yields?
McCain said he wanted cloture AND the up-and-down vote tonight, before the Senate takes its Memorial Day recess, so they can come back next week and get back to doing real work. Undoubtedly most senators already have plans (read: plane tickets and fund raisers) for tonight in anticipation of getting this wrapped up early. This would be a great time for someone on the left to take a few books out of the Library of Congress and just start reading on the Senate floor.
I would recommend "1984" "Farenheit 451" and "Catcher in the Rye" (just because it'll piss off so many Christo-fascists) and perhaps a few books from the New Testament for good measure.
