Hastert just said it on CNN
Paraphrased, "Either you want to help the victims of Katrina and solve problems, or you can point fingers and play the blame game"

I think my blood pressure doubled when I heard that. FUCK YOU HASTERT. You are less than a worthless piece of shit, and you will pay.

3. With us or against us?
Same rhetoric, different disaster.

You support the president's relief efforts or you are taking a bottle out of a baby's mouth.

You support the president's efforts in Iraq or you are aiding terrorists who killed all those people on 9/11.

9. I hate to say it, but I agree with his statement...
The Dems need to start acting like Dems, and quit attacking Bush. We will gain nothing from this, as a party, if we stay in attack only mode.

10. I know what you're saying..........
yet, I don't even see it as attack, more like criticizing because the failures continue, specifically with FEMA. How can we help the victims when the same people are making the same mistakes right now and nothing is being corrected?

Dems acting like Dems should mean they are an opposition party, not a rubber stamp for Bush's failures or helpless observers while Americans are displaced, silenced, and treated like animals.

12. It's not the blame game
it's called accountability, which needs to be addressed so that does not hapen again. The FEMA director needs to be fired so that someone who knows what they are doing can handle any other emergency situation. God forbid we have a terrorist attack now, this idiot would still be in charge. They have not made us safer and that is what they campaigned on, this was their test and they failed. It is the simple fact that this country's well being is dependent on putting people in charge who know what they are doing. This idiot president has yet to figure out that he is supposed to know how to connect the dots. If he des not know, does not wish to know or is not intelligent enough to be imaginative in what he can do to plan for disaster's then the stupid ass should resign. It is the ACCOUNTABILITY, we don't have time to wait, our federal gov't should be able to handle making neccessary changes to FEMA while still attending to the needs of the people of the gulf coast. The repukes own the f*&^%$# gov't, how could they not be able to accomplish this.
If the Dem's had been in office they would be hung in pulbic square.

23. Exactly!
If this was Clinton, Gore or Kerry they would've been impeached over this! But Bush gets shit! While the republicans say "it's not the president's fault" they go and blame Bill Clinton! Take some personal responsibility for once damnit!

18. I think it is obvious that they are targeting their loyal religious
followers and swallowers. They always need to keep them riled up with the psuedo relgious and patriotic propaganda. I think we should not ignore it, but not get our blood pressure up knowing that educated people see though it and that includes the rest of the world excluding those paid by the regime for their loyalty and hard work to pump up the regime.

19. It is necessary to point fingers because the cowardly cons did not level
with us. Cons must state their purpose, plainly, without rhetoric, excuses, blames, and lies. They must explain, candidly why the federal government did not respond in the capacity it has responded to other disasters, and *why it turned away help*.

They must explain, candidly, whether the cons took the worst disaster in most of our lifetimes as an opportunity for an "object lesson" on how inadequate the federal government is in helping in disasters, so the citizens of this country would "see the light" and demand privatization.

If so, cons must explain why the great cost of human suffering and needless death was acceptable to meet their ends. Explain in plain English, flat out without excuses, why this is not a monumental crime against humanity.

They must explain these things to We, STILL the People. If they are so confident in their ideals, and if they are so confident their actions were constitutional, they should be happy to explain it truthfully, without rhetoric, without generalities and without excuses.

Federal pols more concerned with their PR & talking points blaming the locals for the bungled Fed response, than getting off their asses and getting the job done.

26. "Solving problems"? The "solving problems president?" Bullshit.
Bush didn't solve the problem of 9/11 and help heal the country - he used that for all it is worth. He hasn't "solved the problem" of voting transparency - he ignores it because it pays off in fear.

He didn't "solve the problem" of lawlessness during katrina (completely predictable) because it would pay off in fear.

27. The system failed us.
That means we have to find the points of failure and fix them. And the points of failure don't like it that they have been found, but it is not about them, it is about the victims and finding a solution.

To fix a problem you have to know the problem.
