My Daughter Marched In Washington!
I have not been a total failure as a single mother, thank the Goddess! My daughter is living with my father in DC area to go to school, and she went to the war protest! She's even helping her grandfather around the house.

And I am enjoying the blissful peace and quiet. Life is good today, and getting better.

1. Congrats on your success in child rearing.

I have an 11 year old, and we have everything to do to keep the kid off the topic of politics.

We couldn't make DC, but my wife and I participated in the first two large NY protests. It was really cold for the first one, so we sent my boys to be baby sat by their aunt, but both boys marched in the second NY marches.

My oldest is a young lefty. His mother, my wife, is even to the left of me, so that may have something to do with it. I call my wife Carlotta Marx.

My youngest is more into Sponge-Bob and Video games than politics, but he's only six.

5. She's beautiful.
And yup, those gold star moms will tear your heart out. I don't know how anyone who loses a child to violence ( or anything really) can still get up every day and put one foot in front of the other. Your daughter will never forget this protest.

4. As a single parent,
I salute you. I don't think people who haven't done it really understand. I had someone at work who had just started dating a man with custody of his son come up to me and say, "I never understood what you were doing until now. I had no clue."

Congratulations on being a great mom.
