Is "Snotty" McClellan Having a Press Conference Today??
I'm just asking. I'm at work and unable to see it. Should be pretty interesting. I think I'd be needing to do some serious boozing if I were him.

5. Since the Prez is headed to FL, I doubt it
Usually there's some sort of gaggle on the plane but no real press conference.

7. Today's press conference, a new protocol.
The White House has decided to streamline the daily press conference.
Mr. McClellan and the press office have assembled a collection of responses from recordings from recent press conferences. The press office has assembled these into video clips and stored them on a computer to which we have connected a large flat screen display. The computer and video display will be set up in the press room with the video display on the podium facing the reporters.

An aide from the press office will henceforth run the press conference. He or she will call on the reporters. Whenever a question has been asked the aide will press a button and a random response from the vast collection of official White House responses will be played on the video display.

The White House hopes this new protocol will make press conferences more meaningful and will avoid the recent back-and-forth arguing between the press office and the press. The White House feels strongly that this will improve relations with the press.

10. A Newer Protocol
Scott McClellan will give his press briefing from an "undisclosed" location via satelite. He will stand in front of a giant flat-screen TV where he will be able to see the press corps, and have a spontaneous "back and forth" with the reporters.

Former DOD and current White House Public Affairs Officer, Allison Barber was seen "preparing" the reporters for the satelite feed, instructing them on who would be asking what questions, and showing them how to pass the microphone. She stressed that she was not "coaching" the reporters, but simply wanted to help them understand how the satelite feed would work.

11. McClellan is a troubled person
He obviously isn't qualified for his job. He has to clean up the mess of the neocons and that's a very tough job to do. You can tell he has no confidence. They should bring Ari Fleisher back, at least he was a damn good liar.
