An unchastened Chalabi appeared in public at the conservative American Enterprise Institute...

AEI hosting an International criminal?
Wow...nice 'values'.

This is the same thug who promised "flowers and candy" for our troops, hyped the WMD claims, and spyed on the USA to Iran.

WASHINGTON - Like a jealous lover, the Bush administration embraced Ahmad Chalabi as an Iraqi dissident with a quick and easy recipe for toppling Saddam Hussein, then spurned him, and yesterday pulled him back to its bosom once more.

According to his critics, Chalabi conned the administration into thinking that Hussein had weapons of mass destruction and that transforming Iraq would be simple. But it was not until U.S. intelligence allegedly caught him passing its secret codes to Iran last year that he fell out of favor in Washington.

fall out of favor. It could have been a show to help him gain favor with Iraqis.
And I'm not sure that it is much of a con if you are telling people what they want you to say. He helped sell the war just as they wanted him to.
