1. The Democrats better look hard at the polls then.
And stand with Murtha.

3. yes
Politics as usual. I hope our elected officials realize if they vote NO then they are saying we should stay there forever, basically, because Bush has no intention of ever bringing the troops home.

6. If I'm correct, congress can pass a resolution to bring home the troops
but they can not make Bush* bring home the troops. They can, however, cut the funding for the Iraq war and possibly force the return of the troops.

This whole situation is totally FUBAR. :(

8. Murtha made a statement saying troops should be REDEPLOYED
not withdrawn.

The Republicans then created a 'fake' resolution saying that it's the House's "feelings" that ALL troops should be brought home NOW and are going to force people to vote on it. Bascially a charicature of Murtha's own plan.

That is my understanding.

4. VOTE TODAY - RIGHT NOW
Why wait? Each day means more caskets brought home. It shouldn't be considered a stunt. Pelosi should lock down the votes and do it - NOW.

10. I agree 100%. If the Pukes want to make a game out of it...
Democrats need to go into the game exactly as if it were the real thing. Vote to bring them home. Now.

5. Make it binding
If we win, the Pentagon loses all funding until the boys and girls come home. If they win, well, the senseless slaughter continues.

Like I said elsewhere, put up or shut up, fascists. We'll get you on the record as PRO-WAR.
