I think the widely-posted pic of Reid is a little creepy and not good PR
Am I the only one who thinks this pic of Reid looking down into the camera is a little creepy? A little X-files meets Godfather. I understand the context of the photograph but I think the visuals do the event injustice. If you look at the two men behind him, they look like they are conspiring mobsters and Reid looks like some megalomaniacal "Big Brother" or creepy mad scientist or something. It is just my opinion but I think we can get a better picture of Reid. It just gives me the creeps.

4. It's the halo . . .
The inadvertant (or very clever photography) halo that makes it seem so creepy.

8.  nothing personal, man. to each his own.
I understand that it does have appeal to certain people exactly because of its "tough guy" connotations. Like I said, it is just my opinion.

I won't blame you (that much)if we don't take back the House and Senate next year. :)

I love it when I come across one of your posts and I see this pic in your sig line!
Reminds me of a great day when we can celebrate something good our side did instead of just celebrating *ush getting caught f-ing up our country. Ya know what I mean?
Besides I love my guy Durbin!!!

6. It's Stupid's "halo photographer."
Haven't you noticed that all the official shots of Stupid are done from about the height of his fly, pointing upward? The "halo photographer" also frames his shots so that some round object is in back of Stupid, making him look divine, just absolutely divine.

Yes, it's completely inappropriate for Democrats to be photographed this way, no matter how messianically antiabortion they happen to be.

(yes, that was a dig)

16. It's contrived, but I should think that if it also looks brutal to us,
the freepers are going to like it a whole lot less.

9. I love the pic! If * can have a halo, why not Reid?
But *'s "haloes" are often done with lighting--Reid's is just a painted dome. I love Reid's "bring it on!" pose. Aren't people always saying the Dems come off as wimpy? This is a nice contrast.

10. And look at the two guys behind him...
The guy on the left is all "you wanna fuck with us? well do ya?" and the guy on the right is "tell 'em Harry".

I reckon it kills. Perception comes from image, and they look tough.

13. The halo and three wise men
It was the first thing I thought of when I first saw this pic. Who was the photographer who managed to line up his head with the circular decorations around the dome above and behiind him? A day or two later I saw a pic of Frist in the same room and he was not lined up in this manner.

I admit the idea of them being part of the mob didn't occur to me. My thought was the pic presented them as three holy wise men. As I recall, this was the pic that went with the story about the Dems closing down the senate (?)

I think what repels about this pic is it appears arrogant and presumptious. When you realize this isn't staged by Reid, but rather by the photographer, it loses some of that pretentiousness.

It is an odd photo, but he definitely looks resolute.

20. How can you NOT like that thing? I LOVE it. It ROCKS.
Reid looks like the badass I have come to believe he is. With a nice little halo around his head. Whoever captured that art is a goddman genius (with great eye and a steady hand). No offense, really, I see where you're coming from, but I'm surprised by how many apparently hold this perspective. I guess my mileage varies.

but this one reminds me of Harry's best day in the senate, so it is all good.

Very creepy. They look like Republicans in this pic! :D Reid looks like some sort or religious-right telepastor. The others look almost as bad.
