more on: Chiefs demoted in Pentagon succession line

http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2005-12-28-pentagon-succession_x.htm

The three military service chiefs have been dropped in the Bush administration's doomsday line of Pentagon succession, pushed beneath three civilian undersecretaries in Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's inner circle.

A little-noticed holiday week executive order from President Bush moved the Pentagon's intelligence chief to the No. 3 spot in the succession hierarchy behind Rumsfeld. The second spot would be the deputy secretary of defense, but that position currently is vacant. The Army chief, which long held the No. 3 spot, was dropped to sixth.

The changes, announced last week, are the second in six months and mirror the administration's new emphasis on intelligence gathering vs. combat in 21st century warfighting.

-snip-

But in its current incarnation, the doomsday plan moves to near the top three undersecretaries who are Rumsfeld loyalists and who previously worked for Vice President Dick Cheney when he was defense secretary.

the bloody hands criminal bushgang is tightening it's circle of wagons

that's OK, it makes it easier for us to surround them.

(wonder what the "Chiefs" think about this?)

3. The repubs aren't wise to piss off the military...
when push comes to shove (if it comes to that)
I'm thankful that the repubs have pushed the
military firmly to our side (and i do believe they
were there already).

4. Pretty friken creepy, if you ask me....
The Service Chiefs have more interaction with the Congress than any shitty little undersecretary has--they have to turn up every year and testify at appropriations committee hearings, and justify their actions...to say nothing of the fact that they regularly socialize with defense/military committee reps from BOTH sides of the aisle, and keep the lines of communication open...unlike the Monkey's cretinous little appointees.

5. i think this is good for us and bad for repugs who
have always claimed the military for their own. now that they are p*ssing them off . . . . well, you shouldn't p*ss off the men with guns. this might loosen the military's lips a little also.
