or is he a self-declared Socialist - but technically not affiliated with a specific (organized) political party and thus for official designation is I (Independent = not affiliated with a specific (organized) party.)

Props to Vermont. No surprise that Sanders is leading; the surprise is the margin. 70% is a real mandate, unlike the Jeff Gannon type. :)
