OK I've really had it
Edited on Fri Jan-27-06 06:42 PM by malaise
After watching Tweety ask Delay why Democrats hate him when this criminal is awaiting a trial for serious crimes and after watching Wolf attempt to discredit Kerry et al for the filibuster, I am convinced that Aaron Brown is correct. Nothing on cable is about the truth. Nothing on cable is about investigative journalism. Nothing on cable is about educating citizens about their rights or dangers facing them.

These men and women on cable are low level scum who enjoy great salaries and do not give a damn about anything but the good life (as defined by lowlives). Something has to give.

Edit -sp.

5. and that's why Aaron Brown was given the boot.
Serious and REAL journalism no longer exists on TV.
At least the NY Times has strong critisisms of Bush and Company.

Because nothing will change unti they have been exposed.

10. That is urgently required
This $hit cannot continue. When Gore makes one of the most important speeches about a constitutional crisis and cannot be given decent coverage while Bush is given two plus hours to chat more crap and take questions from plants in a crowd, it is time to demand that the Democratic party receive fair play.

I hope those demonstrations next week will have more than a view banners about these whores in the media. It is time for Air America to take this on board as well.

15. Yes, I've been thinking the same thing
It's almost a waste of time trying to reform the media we have now. What needs to be done is educate the public somehow that they aren't getting what they think they're getting from our current television news and they must dig deeper. But how?

12. IMO, the most important thing to do is call the advertisers and bug
them about Hardball.

The way to win the boycott is to get the advertisers to pull their ads.

1. Contact "Hardball's" Advertisers
MESSAGE: Please stop associating your product with TV shows like "Hardball" that compare me to Osama bin Laden.

9. Something has to give ...
... and it already has. It's called the internet(z).

Ratings for all TV news, especially cable news, are plummeting. That's because there's no such thing as 'TV news reporting' anymore --it's just an endless episode of 'Entertainment Tonight', and appeals to the same people who are more concerned with 'who' Angelina Jolie is wearing to the Oscars than with what is going on with our country, and the world.

Let the mindess children have their playthings - intelligent adults come to places like DU for their news.

16. DU is my main source for news
but that does not mean the Democrats aren't entitled to decent and fair coverage. Why do we have to watch C-Span to see that important speech by Al Gore. This is absolutely unacceptable and the dismissive way in which these whores treat serious issues has got to be stopped.

Sure we all have computers and access to decent news sources but what about the millions of people who can't afford private access to news and who are being brain-washed with this bulllspit? Enough of this crap!!

17. Of course Democrats are entitled to fair coverage ...
... but it's not about fairness; it's about money. As long as these so-called 'news' shows appeal to somebody who spends money on their sponsor's products, they're happy with the status quo.

Complaining doesn't work if you're trying to appeal to the networks' sense of fairness, balance, or truth-telling. They're obviously not interested in ANY of those things.

If you want to lodge your dissatisfaction with a TV news show, network or organization, you've got to threaten to boycott their sponsors' products. It's the only thing that matters to them; i.e. the bottom line.

You won't believe this. The Newshour on PBS has a segment on yesterday's Oprah show and showed a couple of minutes of the show itself.

They cannot say that WeThePeople lost the class war because we didn't show up and that Wealthy Rule has entrenched the machinery of the country to see that the Empire goes about global conquest with military supremacy forever, because they have to talk about Oprah.

19. I found the Oprah show coverage very interesting
and KO dealt with it really well last night in terms of who will admit a mistake and demand the truth. The majority of the media who demanded that Oprah get the truth from the author or lose credibility pack their shows with liars from top to bottom including their hosts. They have some nerve even suggesting that Oprah demand the truth to maintain credibility or integrity. Not one of them has a shred of either and they wouldn't know the truth if it hit them square in the face. Fugging whores.
